I don't see a post where tom has ever said it has had to be exact! So don't worry
Exact price is part of the entry rules.... little under 750 isnt acceptable
The test entry was pretty clear, there was an exact price.
Clearly only says MAXIMUM of £750
I mean the test entry, where he shows how it's supposed to looks like, there was an exact price of all the components, so it's pretty clear you have to do the same.
Guide / Test entry
This is just to show you what you need to do
(staff are not permitted to enter)
For my entry into the Competition I have chosen the following components to acompany the MSI 7770.
CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K (Ivy Bridge Socket 1155 Processor)
Motherboard: MSI Z77MA-G45 Intel Z77 Socket 1155 Motherboard
Ram: 8GB (2x4GB) Corsiar Vengeance Jet Black Loew Profile 1600MHz
Hard Drive: Crucial m4 256GB 2.5" SATA 3 SSD & 2TB Western Digital Green SATA 3 HDD
PSU: 750w Corsair HX V2
CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro H60 V2 Closed water cooling kit
Case: Fractal Design Core 3000 Case
Total: - £727.57
The quoted post by Tom was in reply to one above it where somebody didn't state their builds total cost. He was saying that including the total cost of parts is required not that everyone needs a list of components that totals £750 exactly.
As G-sus says, the test entry clearly doesn't have a total of exactly £750, the rules don't state it either and i'd imagine it would be pretty damn hard to do anyway!
E: beaten by the man himself!
This is why we can't have nice things! D'8
The main reason why we can't have nice things is that we don't work our arse off for it, not cause we don't win a competition that all we have to do is write a bunch of lines and paste a couple of links. Stop complaining about this like it's an issue with your salary and you're not getting paid well enough this month.
:downit:opcorn:
I don't mean to be an ass or anything, but there's nothing in the rules that mentions anything about being exact.
