Wii Wii

There seems to be a trade embargo with Wales. I tried a few places last night.

"Don`t know where, when or if we`re gonna get them."

Fudge.

Pre-ordered at GAME and got in at 7.15 to pick it up. Played it from 1-11pm yesterday with a couple of mates who came around and it's great fun!

Argos have some coming in tomorrow I heard if you want one get down there early

Impressions:

Amazing fun with more than one player. I've only really played Wii Sports and Wii play (Zelda's looks like it'll take a while to get into) but get a friend along to play against you and you just can't stop laughing...or ruining the furniture.

The OS GUI is slick and fast, faster than the 360 OS imo. It's well designed and the Wii Mii's are just fantastic!

Boxing is one game I found that is pretty unresponsive although it's still great fun. I can't wait for some more great games to come out to fully utilise this baby!

One gripe I've found is that the console is pretty lacking on the sound front. OK, it's got the Wii-Mote that puts out sound which is great but I found the music to be pretty appalling...easy listening rubbish and not much f8illing sound. This doesn't necessarily spoil your enjoyment of the console but it can be irritating!

Overall a great fun and definitely social console that is a "must buy" if you like gaming with your friends and want to get your family in on the action!

Sounds like a definate Xmas family thing doesn`t it Kemp, and a young family - pfft they`ll be there for ages.

Is Zelda very midi based still ?

Sit down for a few hours and immerse yourself in some Zelda, it's friggin epic mate. I can't put down the Wiimote when I'm playin, great fun.

@Rast: Yeah but I don't mind really because it brings back good memories :D

Frag m8, I`ve still got the Ocarina of Time sound in my head from 8 years ago (or however long it was).

The thing is with these games is that they`re put together so well u don`t even think about it once u start playing them.

I`d ABSOLUTELY love it if Nintendo wrote games for the PC.

They honestly remind me of the games we had 15 years ago where a bedroom programmer made them - and they play 1000000% better than those brought through high production companies that cost millions to develope.

Top marks for Nintendo imo.

I, like millions of other players, am buying it for Zelda alone (and the fact I can play the GC ones whilst I`m in the experience), after that the fact is I`ll probably pass it on as I did the N64.

My mate bought one at 12 on the release day from choices...

He came in to work today with sore arms from playing all night! :rotfl: Sounds like good fun tbh :)

wooo, this could actually help fat people who have an addiction to playing consoles.

Was watching the news earlier and it some people that were really pee'd off as they pre ordered and now the shops cannot fulfill them. All the shops are trying to lay the blame on nintendo. Nintendo said "the whole pre order thing is a scam, how can they say you'll get one if you pre order it, yet the stores dont know how many they will be allocated"

I couldnt agree more with nintendo. But some of the end customers need to get it into there head that with just about every console, there is always a shortage at release.

Muahaha you got my plan pinned mate :p Me, being the fat fecker that I am plan on playing the Wii to death till I lose about 100 lbs and then write a letter to Nintendo about their miracle console and become the next Subway Jared but for Nintendo :D Gonna make me some fat stax of cash, ooooh yeah! :rocker:

The sheer size of the Wii is pure amazement. You can put the tiny little thing pretty much anywhere and it's so ultra portable. I love it!! Nintendo, you win. Sony, you fail.

Edit: Oh yeah... PS3 = Pwned = http://nexgenwars.com/ = Rofl Sony, keep trying :p

I remember reading somewhere that there's a medical condition associated with the Wii already.

Apparently it's a bit like RSI, but they're calling it Wii Shoulder:rolleyes:

All we (or wii) need now is someone to come up with a console called the Puu :p

But I can imagine some of the convos in the Game shop now:

Kid: Mum? I want a Wii!!!!

Mum: Jeeeeez! I told you to go before we came out. Now we're gonna lose our place in the queue!!

Kid: Nooooo! Not a wee, a Wii.

Mum: Look, it's not a game you know.

Kid: Yes it is, it's.......

Mum: Right, that's it were going home.

Kid: Can't I have a Wii then?

Mum: You can have one when we get home.

Kid: Why, have we already got one?

Mum: Just shut up and walk.

Doesn`t it seem strange, verging on weird, how everytime a console comes out a shop gets either none, 10, or 25 units ?!?!

I understand the manufacturing and logistics, but I think when it`s 4G time, some1 should revolutionize devise 2G Man&Log, so shops can have 100s.

And this time of year ?

In Cardiff alone, I`d propose that if every shop (major shop prehaps) had 200 units on Dec 8th, they`d be pretty close to sold out but monday 11th.

other than the hardware shortages as they cannot make them quick enough, i think the 3 big companies may play a little of it to make there console "look" better, IE, sold out everywhere, everyone is going crazy to get one etc.

My story went like this. Friday send wifr to Argos cos I am working, Argos empty, so she goes to woolworths, empty too she tries local game shop who did not get any, but the bloke says his mate just picked the last one of three that a local TV shop got in.

Wife rings me to let me know the bad news, so I ask her which TV shop "Bennetts", ring Bennetts and bag 1 of the 2 still left.:D

I put the phone down and told a work colleague who said "get me one" ring back straight away only to find item was bought by local game shop owner - cant blame him.

Bought a couple of other games on saturday and finding it really hard to resist at the moment as it is my Christmas present for the whole family.

I might have to get up secretly in the middle of the night and give it a try, bit like competetive dad of the fst show and own the family on christmas day.

sad thing is on ebay there are people who pre ordered 10 just to make a fast buck, and there will be upset kids who cannot get one off santa. Sod being Santa this year.

just had a look on ebay, there is a bloke called adventually showing a picture of all the wiis he bagged to sell at extortionate prices to little kids who cannot get them for a fair price.

I have emailed one already asking if it their fault kids from less well off families will be upset this year.

not bothered if i get a reply but then again their conscience probably wiont be bothered neither.
