I intentionally started on FM because it was about fighting cancer (and more) and my grandpa and very good friend of mine died to the cause of this ,

So i was right on it when i first heard about it, last but definitely not least is our BIG guy above Phil,

so glad Charlie decited to honour the BIG guy and make a own Team for it,

now IIRC correcly Phil started Redline (overclocking forum) in the first place together with some other members,

and now we ( I def AM) proudly Folding (hounering) for him as well

Please correct me if my story fails at some point and share yours please

My grandfather died of cancer in his late 40s, my mum had cervical cancer, my best friend had brain cancer (and after 8 years has been given the all clear!!!!!!!!) and I know too many people who suffer or have lost loved ones for me to ever not Fold or contribute in some way.

Same here. Grandfather, Grandmother, countless others I know who have/had cancer. I myself can't do anything to help find a cure for these diseases as I'm not a doctor or researcher. Folding is the least I can do to help out.

For my grandpa, who died of a rare bone marrow cancer

For my grandma, has had breast cancer and survived it

For my dad/brother, who smoke and may very well get lung cancer or something else

For Phil, who I did not know personally but is the soul of this team

For everybody who folds

For humanity in general

And for all of you guys, my teammates, who have joined me in this fight and have made this team such a great success that it is.

I've suffered with Crohn's for the last 20yrs+ so if all this folding can help find a cure for cancer etc im all for it

For Me The list is too long but on the Short list and reason for my recent purchases and PPD Push is Waiting on my Mom's Mammogram Results The suspense is killing me but Each Day I Forge ahead pushing my hardware harder and harder in hopes that one day It will be a small but contributing factor to a cure for many diseases that have come into each and every one of our lives unwillingly!

I'm Folding for you Mom!

ive lost 3 grandparents to it

my grandpa to pancreatic cancer when i was 15 my gran to bowel cancer 6 months later she also survived breast cancer in her 50's then in march just passed i lost my grandad to advanced metastatic prostrate cancer

my mum has a breast cancer scare when i was a kid and that in itself is scary

i had a mate who has testicular cancer but he is all clear and has been for a good 8 years

and 2 weeks ago a very close mate of mines lost his dad at 53 to lung and brain cancer

and i fold not only cause of all that but i want to help further cancer research and all other diseases this helps along the way

100% with ya there, Tallum. We've all been affected in some way and we all know the sting it causes.

I'm glad you're with us here at Redline @ OC3D.

I started when I joined these forums some time ago

after Fragtek told me about it, he was the main folder then along side Jim, Peevo and a few others. I think i was also doing SETI as well then but this is a much more worthy cause and as mentioned often enough already many of us have been affected in some way.

edit - just been to look at the old team (43461)there is obviously some old pc out there still folding in my name for team 43461- not sure if I know where it is :/

Both my Grandmother's died to different forms of cancer and my mum had bowel cancer and has recovered.

Just this morning we got a phone call to tell us that a friend of my parents had died, partially due to bone cancer.

I have the knowledge to set up good computer systems and the time to maintain them and stanford have provided the perfect way for me to help.

Cancer is a bastard and I've lost a few loved ones to it. If a couple of hundred quid's worth of NVidia and electricity can help people I'm more than happy to contribute.

dad died when I was six, then literally six months later grandfather died, then couple of years later grandmother died, Ive only lived 15 years....I m trying to put my 580s to work but its just aint happening atm, very soon tho
