Which Sellers Do A Dead-Pixel Check?

Aria do a dead pixel check for £19.95 on their TFT monitors (I wouldn't buy a monitor from Aria without a pixel check - who do you think they sell the ones to that fail the test?!)

Are there any other sellers who offer the service?

And do you think it's worth it?

I personally wouldn't pay for one.

Do you know how likely it is to get lumbered with a monitor with dead pixels?

I've read lots about people getting them, but then again people only make a fuss when something is wrong, not when something is OK.

TBH if i got a brand new flat screen with dead pixels, i'd box it back up and throw it out of my bedroom window, and claim that the couriers squished it.

That may sound a little bit unethical, but what i find more unethical is that a manufacturer/retailer thinks that they can sell you a brand new item and not RMA it when it has a fault.

Ive never received a monitor with dead pixels before, and I've had quite a few flat screens... Some of which had a LOT of pixels (ie 3007WFP) hehe.

Neweggs return policy is that the monitor must have 10 or more dead pixels before it can be RMA'd. So they think it's acceptible for a brand new monitor to have 1-9 dead pixels and make u suffer with it.

I dunno if I'd spend $40 for a pixel check though, seems pretty steep.

Then there's Costco which supposed to have the best return policy ever: return, no questions asked, and then you can just buy again, or buy better :p

But the cost of getting membership there is the same as a dead pixel check from aria :D

my monitor had 2 dead pixels, i just rubbed them every time i turned my monitor on and now they are gone for good.

Hey, if you've got one or two, you can easily make 8 or 9 more. For every dead pixel needed, duff your monitor in the face. :haha:

out of 2 monitors i got 1 with a dead pixel the other i think it is a HP1502 has been hit and mistreated by my mum and is still with out any artifacts

EDIT: from scan malta if u have 3 or more dead pixels u get a replacement

mine came without any faulty pixels or subpixels and doesnt ghost, has a response time of 3ms.

but its not strange really if a pixel would be faulty, on my tft i have 1.310.720 pixels and 3.932.160 subpixels.

but their is always the possibility to chose a monitor with pixel warranty.

i can rma my monitor with solittle as 1 faulty pixel.

then you have a monitor with a very high response time when it comes to changing colours.

not uncommon to have a very low response time when going from white to black or grey to grey and a very high 20ms or more when going from red to green.

response time is actually abit of lieng as it depends on how its checked.

but cant complain on the viewsonic vx924 i have.
