Ok so I've found a plethora of AWESOME cable configs on the Adelphia network, and now I need to debate which one I want to stick with....

Here are the two that are in question:

Config #1 - 9mbit down / 3.5mbit up

download.php

or...

Config #2 - 19mbit down / 2.5mbit up

download.php

The download on config 2 is just INSANE and has a pretty good upload speed as well. But, I definately like the extra 1mb upload that config 1 has to offer.

Which config would you choose??

would go for 9/3.5

got 8 down and thats more then enough

their is no difference between 24/24 and 8/1 when it comes to surfing and 8/1 is faster than most fileservers can handle today.

Config #1 - Love the upload and it's also better in games due to lower latency :D

Not really. Cable itself has a lower latency than other alternatives such as xDSL, but games won't create enough udp or tcp traffic on a 9mb connection to cause any extra lag then there would be on a 19mb connection.

I've only been able to find one download server so far that's let me download from em @ over 2000kb/s which is pretty insane... Makes for nearly instantaneous downloads.

On the other hand, I'm a huge torrent seeder and the 3.5mb up is nuts clocking in @ over 400kb/s upstream while seeding some large high demand files :D

thats why i would chose thehigher upload.

upload is what i always feel is limited with the 8/1 connection i have.

I would go for 19mbit down / 2.5mbit up,but more on the upload would be nice for games i must admit, but downloading large files upto some 4.5gb+

19mbit would come in handy, still 9mbit is not bad at all.

cheers.

IMO, the difference between a 2.5mb upload and a 3.5mb upload isnt much, and i doubt you'd hardly ever notice it, however, the difference between 9 & 19mb is huge, and you'd see that in EVERYTHING you do on the net.

yar, look at 'max pause'. i'm pretty sure that's latency isn't it?

yes. But that test will probably use packets at full MTU. games won't. It's also a round trip, so the latency given in the test is likely to be dependant on other connections. The RTT is higher on the first connection than the second.
