Which brand is the best to purchase of the 970 series. I was looking at the asus strix but i was told the msi twin frozr is by far a better card better cooling and overclocks more. Any of you guys have any feedback it would be much appreciated. Kind regards ViBe.

ummm.... the one you like best.

Most helpful and insightful post ever ^_^

Go for the card that suits your need and theme of your case if that's your thing.

For pure cooling you can't go wrong with either the Phantom, Gigabyte or Palit as for performance they will all roughly perform the same.

From the reviews I have read the Giga and Asus ones seem to be the coolest and quietest. Overclocking will come down to silicone lottery more than the cooler on the card seen as they run so cool anyway, heat wont be much of an issue.

Gigabyte is my choice.

Appreciate all the feedback a friend told me zotac cards are good however i have never really heard of the brand to be honest. Such a hard decision deciding which one to purchase and which will suit my nzxt h440 red/black case  :)

I'd go with the MSI one if you have a H440 in red and black, it will go nicely with it. :)

They are all essentially the same card though, some have different custom PCBs and slightly better coolers than others. They will all perform generally the same though, some may be that little bit better for overclocking, but not by much. Not unless you plan on overclocking it to the limits and squeezing every last mhz out of it that you can.

The only other things to consider when deciding on which manufacturer to go with are things like warranty and how good their customer services are in case you have problems latter down the line.

me personally alwaysgo with asus they seem to have the best hardware on the inside not that it matters that much, but the semi passive strix versions are aswsome or evga cause their customer service is rather impresive atleast over here in belgium :d

Guys what are your view on the EVGA GeForce GTX 970 SC? After much searching around I found that the MSi 970 won't fit into the Corsair 240.

It looks really cool. The ACX 1.0 cooler was a bit hot or miss, but this one might be different. If you like it, go for it as EVGA is generally great with RMAs and warranties

If they fix the coil whine and the heatsink that does not fit properly and the voltage is lower than other cards it may be ok.........

I too was thinking about the EVGA GTX 970 SuperClocked ACX 1.0 but due to all the problems with those cards and low quality components I chose not to go with them.

Instead I ordered three of these to replace my 3x GTX 780.

First thing I gonna do when they are installed is to overclock the core from 1051Mhz stock to 1152MHz on all three - then I get Phantom clock speeds on radial blower cards
