Where Did All the Folders Go?

Last post in Redline Folding section was on May 30th 2020.

Where's everyone at? No news? Nothing to talk about. No new equipment? What's up guys?
 
I've had weird PC crashes when Folding and haven't been able to diagnose so stop folding as didn't wanna bork any results. Still not got to the bottom of it yet.
 
No news that I've seen. Still folding away though....has bamadave67 posted at all? I don't remember if we knew who they are.
 
Hi Guys, Only real news is that the 'Beta' WU's have now added CUDA support (using) instead of OpenCL...Some BIG PPD increases across the board.

Suppose I don’t really need to mention how well the RTX 3080 & 3090 fold :o

Holy heck -- my trusty 1080Ti is now showing 2.5 million ppd on a core 22 WU. In the past it was usually showing around 1.2-1.5 million. I guess the CUDA support really is a big deal.

Has anybody seen any ppd numbers for the 30xx series yet?

5.5+ mill on the 3080 :o (Depending on WU & OS)

Even my old GTX 1080 is pushing around 1.75mill now up from 900k - 1 mill max & my 2060 Super is upto around 2.75mill, up from just over 2mill max.

lol, I like silence. I'm passed the days of screaming fans. Surprised I don't have hearing loss from running Delta screamers back in the day.

I have a wife who works the night shift (RN) so music isn't an option all the time unfortunately.

Wow -- that's insane! Wonder what a 3090 will put out.
 
With the new cuda enabled core WUs the old 1080 is running around 1.5 mil PPD and the 2070S is running just under 3 mil PPD. About a 50% increase in PPD:D

I may have to buy 1 more card before I retire from this nonsense and take back the top team PPD folding spot, got a decent computer in the garage running on onboard video ATM. Anybody know who bamadave67 is ?
 
At 2100 core speed folding keeps crashing for me. Everything else is still 100% stable. Folding was stable before the CUDA upgrade. I put the clocks back to the normal boost and it's stable again. PPD looks to be about 3 million so can't really complain.
 
Has an overclock always helped with Folding?

I have a 2080 FE, stock will currently hit about 2.7-2.8m PPD.

I am apply my max OC, which is 2115 Core, 1150+ on Memory and it's hitting 3.3-3.4m PPD.

Is that a bug or does the OC help THAT much?
 
Yes, an overclock can help that much, especially when we're in the millions of PPD that we're in now.
 
Hmm, last few days I have left my machine Folding at noticed sometimes it will have "Failed"" status. Is this due to the servers or generally cos of my system?
