Seriously why do so many you-tubers open with that line?
It is probably the 1 thing that irritates me so much that I will be less likely to subscribe

I'm just going to leave this here.

Maybe everytime you hear someone say that on YouTube - tell them what's going on.

"Yeah not bad thanks. Been a bit busy with work but can't complain. Mother in law is down so you know what that's like"

They'd be like WTF?

That's.. not very British.

At the very most it should be "Yeah fine thanks"... or "Yeah not bad you?"

I am not British ;)

We do have the same traits though and yes normally I'd be using the not bad line. We always say the opposite. How are you? Not bad. How far is it? Not far. How long have you had this? Not long. (google Carl Barron)

My favourite is when you run into someone in the street or corridor at work and they're like 'Hello' and you say 'good thanks'

/facepalm

I'm fine thanks how are you?
Not bad thanks you?

"Don't forget to Like, Favourite, and Subscribe! Share with your friends!!"

Anyone remember the days when every YouTuber would ask you to share each and every one of their videos? Man, that got tired quick.

Yeah its annoying but it does seem to work to get them more likes/views.

Yeah, the fact that it works is a problem. Legitimate content creators who do this because they love it and because they are damn good at it have to lower themselves to essentially repetitive begging.

I rarely if ever click on like is there even a valid purpose for that one?
Sometimes I comment but if I like content I will subscribe hence how I ended up here after watching loads of Toms content I always found he came across as impartial and honest and the quality is there with visuals and sound my 2 favourite are the one with crap ton of fans and when he got the 1080 gtx

Well nobody knows for 100% sure, but likes are supposed to get your video put on more people's feeds, so it helps get more views > more ads watched > more £££ > and then Tom gets to buy more Fireball. So yeah there is a pretty valid purpose :P
