Right. I was going to put this in the graphics card section.

If you were interested in my motives then put simply I'm just interested to see how applicable the 7970 Radeons and above will be to users of this forum for actual real world needs and not just peni size. I'm also interested to see what percentage of people run what resolution, as according to Steam 85%+ of its users game at 1920x1080.

I have combined 1900x1200 and 1080p as they are within a margin of error for FPS in games.

I have combined anything less (1680x1050 and so on).

Multiple monitors.

Now this bit is important, so don't vote unless you understand what I mean by multiple monitors. Basically these monitors need to be combined into a single resolution that you play your games at.

So don't vote on it if you have 200 monitors but only game on one of them. Vote on it if you have three or six and scale the game onto them all, for example 5760x1080. Or 4098x768 and so on. It's the combined resolution I am interested in, not a redundant screen that does nothing when you play.

If you have any questions please ask

Should be a landslide, a lot of people have moved to 1080p in the last couple years, so bought their equipment (e.g. GPUs) for it then, most people would look at upgrading other components before a monitor as well, simply because once you start looking at a higher res (1600p or so) monitor, then you need more powerful GPUs, and it all gets quite expensive.

1920 x 1200 for me I noticed in like crysis's I had better pin point control for sniping. Dont see this control in BF3 hell I still dont see how I miss so much in BF3 lmao

still dont see how I miss so much in BF3 lmao

The hit detection on BF3 is terrible, so many times have I emptied half a clip into someones chest and yet they manage to kill me with one shot

My resolution it's 1920x1080 but on a 47" tv not that it makes a difference.

As for seeing how applicable the 7970 is to people for actual real world needs, I see what you are saying as in you don't need one for gaming on a single screen at 1080p or a low res screen.

But, if I had the money as in it wouldn't affect me if I bought one or not I would still buy one for a few of reason

1. It would last me longer that the next card or next couple of cards down.

2. When prices drop and and performance is lacking I could add another one for crossfire and I will still have better performance and the life time of the cards would be even longer than if I had bought a lower end card.

3. Resale value, top end cards hold their value for a long time and when it comes to selling them they are easy to get rid of and you can still make up most of the money for a new top end card.

As I said though, I see what you are getting at

It has been said on here for a long time to go with the best single card you can afford and I agree with that, but it does also depend on how long you intend on keeping the card for and what type of games you play. If you are going to be playing all the latest games then you want the best card you can get that will keep playing the latest games for the longest time possible. If you are someone that only plays CoD MP and a few other non demanding games then the best possible card is not the best high end one and a midrange card would be all you needed.
