What PSU shall I get next??

Hi there guys, im looking for a new modular PSU. Dont want to spend over £150 and its got to be around the 750w zone.

Due to recent experiences please don't recommend a Corsair PSU.

If you don't want a corsair unit, I'd recommend one from Seasonic or Be Quiet

Seasonic X-760 or be quiet! DARK POWER PRO P10 750W

That's true, but they are known for good quality psus, if you had problems with you old Corsair psu, I understand that you want one from a different brand though

I guess Tom also recommended Silverstone and NZXT in his video about the terrible PSU

I've had 4 of them in the past year. Now I accept it could be other stuff causing the problems but I dont have the luxury of expensive testing equipment or spare components to swap out. So this is all part of my process of swapping known problem components for different ones. Hope people understand.

There are two different ODMs of Corsair units, Channel Wells and Seasonic. It's possible you had the former?

You are correct. Not worth the risk though imo. Also I have had 2 x AX 850w and 1 x 750w die on me. So although they were the same series they weren't exactly the same.

A lot of people have said that Enermax PSU's are good and they seem to produce all their stuff in house.

What do you think?

You had the Seasonic ones, then.
Are you sure this is a PSU problem and not something else? Because you're really beating the odds in terms of failure rate.

Enermax does good psu too from what i'v heard, but they're quite expensive

Well half of me thinks its the PSU and half think it may be my power supply. Looking thew the corsair forums there is a hell of a lot of people with exactly the same symptoms as mine and they have all been RMA'ed extremely quickly by corsair. Call me sceptical but I sort of smell a rat. Anyway its no skin off my nose to chance the PSU. If this one blows up, it sort of narrows it down. Oh btw my previous PSU was an OCZ one and that is still going strong but just incase I have ordered a UPS on the recommendation of TTL.

+1 for silverstone strider and the Bequiet, both are very good

How long have you guys had your striders?

I've had mine for 2 1/2 years

Yeah I have an AX-650, but had it not been for the pre-braided cables I would have gotten a Strider and braided it myself. I heard they are great have are very easy to sleeve if you're into that.

My Strider was a doddle to sleeve and it has turned out pretty well
