What is your favorite coolant fluid?

Hi everyone,

I'm not trying to start a flame war here. I'm just interested to know what your favorite coolant is, and why you like it. Maybe it is low maintenance, good colours, whatever the reason.

If you do not yet have a favorite, please feel free to describe what you have used, and what did and did not work well.

Thanks,

Surfie

not really much experience on coolants. been using Ek blood red. bit over one year in the system everything still performing the same. going to keep using this in the future. maybe change of color.

I've used and love Feser One :)

I've used and don't really like very much Mayhems Pastel Gigabyte Orange premix and have also used and don't mind so much Mayhems Pastel Blue

For the last 4 years I've only used de-ionised water with a couple of drops of PT Nuke.

Cheap as chips, works great and doesn't stain the hoses, reservoir etc.

I've only used whatever is in the h100i, so I don't think that counts.

Uncle fluffy, I would be interested to know more about this pt nuke setup of yours.... Any kill coil? Anti corrosive?

At the moment I am tossing up between xspc blue with clear tubes, or distilled water with blue tubes....

Still not sure which way I will end up going though.

I stick with distilled water + a biocide / corrosion additive. As a noob, I didn't like the idea of having colored coolant gunk up my blocks, but I'm probably just paranoid.

You are, this is pretty much a none event (unless you get something growing in your loop).
As Tom has explained in a video somewhere (I can't remember which) the 'gunk' is almost always just standard algae growth that's coloured by the dye in the coloured fluid, the gunk doesn't come from the dye itself. :) In the case of the none-clear coloured fluids, these can separate and stuff but again, that shouldn't effect high-flow areas of your loop (unless it's Mayhems Aurora, I hear that stuff clogs up flow meters a treat)

I was looking really closely at the XSPC brand of coolant, but i'm pretty sure that it contains some form of Glycol....wouldn't that be bad for tubing in general?

'hard' Acrylic - yes,
standard 'floppy' tubing - no
