What is the 'Best' Clear Tubing?

I believe a lot of people, including myself, want to know what clear tubing stays clear the longest, has the best bend radius, most transparent, etc?

Tubing I have heard of:
  • Tygon
  • Duralene
  • Masterkleer
  • Primochill

Take a look at CKC matey thats what I used in there. Nice and clear, very shiney too. Works well. Mayhems Pastel doesnt react with it either.

Ive always used masterkleer?

I've watched all the CKC video build-logs :)
The tubing looks very clear, but how long does it lasts before discoloration?
I have seen stuff like this: http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/water-cooling/49922-primochill-vs-masterkleer-4months-use.html

Duralene is the favorite right now.

Primochill is not the greatest for clear right now.

Duralene is looking quite good as well although I have heard both positive and negative with regards to all clear tubing.

Hmmmmm from that it looks like primochill is better then. This could be good for some long term testing.

From that thread it does, however, the thread was created on December 31, 2011 which is white a while back now so Masterkleer may have changed their 'recipe'. My Primochill in 'Nuclear Fission' still seems to be going strong after months of use, but I will drain the loop and dissect the tubing to see the inside of the tubing.

EDIT: I may buy a bit of clear Primochill tubing and throw it in some distilled water for a while :)
I also found this massive thread dedicated to "Plasticizer Problems" which shows that pretty much all tubing has 'issues'

It needs to be addressed, you are right there.
Tubing is not cheap and plasticizer can block blocks,it would be nice to see where the community stands.

I have read about this on other forums but there is a lot of misinformation and accusation.
Maybe this would be a good community thread, personal experiences and testing coming together? Would be a good resource of our own.....

That's actually one of the things I was aiming for. I currently have two different batches of PrimoFlex Pro LRT Tubing in a little bowl of distilled water next to me :)

What we need are small 3" lengths from all the major manu's that we can subject to controlled conditions mimicking PC use...

i have tygon in my build at the moment, but after less than a week with mayhems coolant it was very cloudy, so when i drain the loop i will probably end up trying a diffrent tubing.

I will NEVER buy Primochill again. Here's what my blue Primochill looked like after 2 weeks:

And I'm not alone, there's a huge thread on OCN called something like "Plasticizer Issues Discussion" where a ton of other people are saying the same thing. I bought some Duralene to replace the Primochill, it's looking great after 16 hours :D

Wow! That's pretty bad for two weeks! What kind of biocide were you using and long ago did you actually buy the tubing?

I was thinking getting bits of tubing, putting stoppers on either end then waiting to see what happens, although in a loop the water would be moving very fast through the tubing so that may result in biased results.

I was using only distilled water with a couple drops of Primochill Liquid Utopia. I had a SKC ready to go but after doing some reseach I thought those are what were causing the problems, so I didn't end up using it. I installed it and had the loop running within a week of buying it I'm pretty sure.

In my system I used 3ml of Utopia, distilled water, and a bit of car engine coolant, so I am fairly excited to see the results.

Distilled water + engine coolant + Primochill Utopia (all 3ml), 8 months old PrimoFlex LRT Pro tubing compared with brand new tubing.

As can be seen, no discolouration or plasticizing, etc:
