soft tubing options

I removed my loop to fit new gxf card and noticed that the tubing had discoloured.
I want to stick with soft tube, there are a lot of options to choose from.
Which type offer the best clarity for longer or better still stay clear?

Sorry mate I missed this. Yeah, that is why I mainly use black tubing now.

Coolant now is made mostly from VG, which yellows over time. As such it will stain tubes, no matter how good/expensive etc. Then again it is cheap, so easily replaced every now and then.

Just make sure the tube has a smooth glossy finish. I would be careful of EK ZMT tubing. Its good but also really bad for those that might want to tinker or change the loop.

This stuff makes compression fittings bite so well that once you screw them tight, you will probably have to cut the hose to remove them later. If you plan to make the loop and then leave it untouched, then go for it.

Yeah that stuff is like tygon. It’s more of a neoprene.

WCUK have a ton of different colours in stock but I wanted 11/8 in black so I had to order 15m from China. Good thing is I’ll never need any more lol

Its EPDM to be exact. Ethylene-propylene diene monomer, a really good synthetic rubber. I just always destoyed my fingers everytime I used it trying to unscrew the fittings. Instead the rubber just twisted around instead of the fitting loosening off.

Try putting a tiny smear of Vaseline around the contact area. Works wonders tbh.

Doesnt work on this. Nor does bike grease, fairy liquid etc. Good at the start of a new loop but give it a week and its like that tube has absorbed it. (it hasnt but still. The compression fittings hold firm)
