What is some of the best HD and SSD out there ATM

So im going to be buying a SSD and 2 HD soon when the prices come back down and i don't really know what are some of fastest drives out there. Im going to be using the SSD as a boot drive so im not going with a real high capacity and the 2 HD are going to be in RAID 0 for a dedicated recording array.So what are some of the fastest drives out there that wont break the bank

Corsair Force GT 120gb or Kingston HyperX 120gb is very good ssd`s.Samsung have F3R hdd specially made for raid.

i only use intel ssd's because i believe that their stamina is superb to anything else on the market right now. but this is my opinion and not fact.

fastest 7200rpm drive imho: WD Caviar Black and WD RE4 (which are almost identical).

although i am very happy with my velociraptors but that't a question of budget. If were you I'd seriously consider the velociraptors should you not need that much space since this is only slightly more expensive than a 1 TB RE4.

On the downside the RE4 and Caviar Blacks are louder than for example Samsung Drives. They also operate a little hotter.

Maybe i am wrong, but I don't think you can go wrong with a SSD brand,

i have used Adata and their as good as the OCZ ones Corsair ones...

Correct me if i am wrong tho

A WD Caviar black would be a really good choice. As for an SSD I'm running a Corsair Force 3, which has been brilliant so far.

Crucial M4 SSD for real world speed, the SandForce SSD's are all hot air and big numbers, but not as fast as asynchronous SSD's.

The only difference i can see is the Barracuda has 2TB of storage which would be good for recording.I just don't know if the WD Black is faster.Hopefully someone who has used the Barracuda could tell me what its like since i can't find any reviews

I would just get the Seagate drive as it's double the capacity and speed wise I'm assuming they will be similar as they are both 7200rpm drives + SATA III. I'm not 100% sure, but the Seagate drive looks like the better deal out of the two. I bought my 2TB WD Black for the same price a while ago, so the pricing is very good I think.
