If it was me I would just go for one 580 and add another one down the line. Two 6950's might be more powerful but one 580 is more than enough for one screen at 1920x1080 and in about a year to two years time when the 580 struggles running games you could add another or just buy a new more powerful card. That is what i would do anyway I have never been interested in running two cards I would rather just buy one high end card and do with out all the CF/SLI hassle.

Oh, he said he was thinking of two MSI 6950s I just assumed he meant SLI.

No mate. Whilst most the Intel boards atm support both SLI and Crossfire, the AMD boards of late only support Crossfire.

You might have been confused by the first page where some of us where telling him to run SLI before knowing what board he was using.

I know this, but i haven't been following the thread, just the last few posts. In the one I replied to he said "So now we're thinking about two MSI 6950's with the Twin Frozr III cooler." This is why I thought he meant SLI.
