Ok I'm just gonna come out and say it... I've been googling it for a few hours an I can't find out what it stands for. It's making me coo coo!!!

I suspect that F means Fermi and K means Kepler but is the G for Geforce? Graphics? Sorry if I'm stupid or making unnecessary thread but I won't be able to go to sleep if I don't find out

someone who works at the development side of nvidia could tell you for sure

I haven't found anything for sure, but like you I've assumed G = GeForce, F = Fermi and K= Kepler.

Thanks guys. I thought maybe I was just stupid but I've noticed that this is not common knowledge. This is some kind of obsession for me. I need to know these things and I can't stop until I find out

yes

all GeForce GT(X) cards were codenamed GFxxx... the F stands for Fermi, , which is based on the 40nm manufacturing process.

the K in the GKxxx codename does stand for Kepler, which is based on the 28nm manufacturing process.
