Any experience with the VTX3D brand I know the are a subsidiary of TUL who makes Powercolor.

Reason I am asking I have just purchased one and I am like oo er!

Have owned a few Powercolors and they all worked without a hitch.

What's your take?

found one about the issue but its been fixed lol was bad drivers and was only able to find one video of it lol

Tbh, I doubt seeing a youtube vid of a gpu blowing up is going to stop anyone buying a gpu. After all, loads of crazy stuff goes on on that website

nVidia are the way to go atm though, and I'm not a fanboy.

Yea they did sort of fix it with the drivers. But they still use crappy VRMs. Also with that so called "FIX" now severely limits your OC potential.

My school DeVry University just got a whole shipment of them for there rendering computers. And out of i think the 30 they got, 6 exploded. the same pop fizz that was in the youtube video. This is with all the latest drivers as well no overclocking.

20% explosion rate hmm, but I never saw many, if any reports of a blowing up card after the driver issue was fixed. Especially at stock clocks.

Whats that smell?.................. Ah it is just bullshit.

without knowing exactly what that beta bios did that shipped with the 590 one cant really say software cant fix hardware. if it over volted something then it could very well of been the issue. hard to say exactly without the facts. But its been reported as fixed and no other issues reported since I'd have to say its fixed.

Not being ignorant, just stating that i think you are chatting out of your arse when you say your school got 30 gtx590's for rendering purposes. That is £10000 worth of gpus technology.

You think its uncommon for a school to spend that much money. ESPECIALLY one such as DeVry!? DeVry is still in the middle of a transition from selling there old stuff for new. This is nothing new. 10000 for new equipment is not even pocket change for them.

Its also a for-profit institution, which makes you wonder why they would buy so many 590s. Anyway, I doubt they exploded, there may have been some RMAs, but I can't find anybody who has reported explosions on up to date drivers since that youtube video was posted.

Anyway, 580>6970>570>6950>560Ti
