Vaping thread

hi guys

just wondering if there any any other vapers here at OC3D.

If there is then this could be a good place for us to chat about different set ups, juices etc.

I look forward to hopefully finding fellow vapers here

Been using one from Scan for around 11 months now.

Last week I ordered and received a Aspire Nautilus tank, which is quite nice and big but doesn't really work to well with the batteries from the kit from Scan, so I have ordered myself a Vamo V5 with a set of 18650 batteries to go with it.

Currently using a Menthol 18mg liquid from Scan but with this new tank, my head starts to spin after a couple of pulls on it, so dependent on what happens with the new battery I might drop down to the 9mg strength liquid.

I vape, kind of. The missus got me started on it mainly to help me cut down on smoking as she quit last year.

I'm just using a basic tank and battery set up, similar to the starter kit. Well, two. I get bored if I only have 1 liquid
Currently got a "refreshers" flavour in one, and in the other a mix of Celtic Vapours "Ancients Blood" with a bit of "aniseed".

aye i vape, am currently using a karangertech protank with some strawberry and kiwi 12mg liquid

Im glad im not the only one here :)

What are your thoughts on the nautilus Damien? Ive heard they are really good...

Ive been vaping since september and only wish ide started sooner. I started with the regular ego c style starter kit and am now using an innokin itaste svd with a helios rda and a nemesis mechanical mod with an igo w3 rda.

Im on 6mg juice and am still trying to find that perfect flavour but at the moment im loving the triple caramel from i-vapo

I like the Nautilus, but the battery I have currently doesn't really provide enough power for it to be usable all the time to give, enough Vape, flavour and strength.

After a couple of draws on it, the strength seems to almost double and my head spins like it did if I smoked 2 cigs one after another.

It is the first none basic tank that I have had and it's quite big, only needs filling once every 2 days.

I got 10 new heads for it, which are basically the coils with it.

Just waiting for my new battery to try it properly as apparently you need a decent battery to get the best from it.

Yh they standard style batteries only give a straight power of about 3.7 volts. Whereas the vamo is variable voltage so you can tweak it to exactly how you want it. It is possible to rebuild the heads in the nautilus but its pretty tricky and awkward.

Is the v5 version variable wattage as well or just voltage?

Variable, was hoping it was going to turn up today but Royal Mail are being slow round work with everything turning up, up to 2 days late.

Currently using an eGo-C Upgrade 1000mah USB pass-thru setup with SmokTech 6ml UDCT. Looking at picking up a Provari for the wife and I as our long-term vape sticks.

All juices I vape are 4 ingredients: VG, PG, flavoring and nicotine (18-24mg). I mostly vape menthol, though. No colors, water, etc. Looking to start home-mixing pretty soon.

Provaris are nice but you can get devices that are just as good for quite abit cheaper mate. have a look at the itaste svd.

my juices are 50/50 pg vg at the moment but im trying to find some good 100% vg juice but i might end up having to mix my own

I've been looking to make the switch to vaper.. (e-cig)

In my locale town center there is Smoko, which I've been seriously considering..... but a few of the option already on this thread have got me searching.

What exactly is vaping? I get that's it some kind of e-cig thing, but, can anyone give a brief explanation of the pros and cons?

basically e-cigs have a coil heating element that heats up the liquid which creates vapour. so that's where the name vaping comes from like smoking is the act of inhaling smoke we inhale vapour.

the pros are that there is only 4 ingredients propylene glycol (pg), vegetable glycerine (vg), nicotine and food flavourings. so there are no dangerous chemicals like carcinogens or cyanide in the vapour. its basically a reduced harm alternative to tobacco smoking.

as far as cons go there hasnt really been any proper long term tests to see what harm they could possibly do. some people can have bad reactions to the pg (mainly diabetics due to it being related to glucose) but its not very common and you can get juices with no pg in them.

i hope that answered your question

Pretty good information there! What's the advantages to your own vapor setups over buying e-cigs?

Im guessing by e-cigs you mean the ones that look like cigarettes?

Mostly its better battery life from our own setups and vastly improved flavour and nicotine absorption. But also in my opinion and a few others too its the disassociation from tobacco cigarettes. Think of it this way... You want to give up smoking but yet you use something that looks almost exactly like a cigarette... It just defeats the point imo

Well my vamo v5 turned up at work yesterday and I got my hands on it today.

Charged the small batteries up that came with it and it is bigger than I thought it would be.

Feels really well made and quite heavy, could probably do some damage if used to hit someone round the head with it.

Only issue is that if I use it at anything above 3v it burns the back of my throat and has a burnt liquid taste.

Up to now, not overly impressed as it's not giving any more vapor or taste to the liquid compared to the standard battery that comes, with the E-Cig kits from scan.
