hey!

I just recieved my Raystorm block today and for some reason I cant get it to fit?

I can get one screw in and then the mounting block (the acrylic frame) is sitting really high up with the other corner..?

and the backplate doesnt fit too good either, its in contact with the cpu frames backplate..

the motherboard is the asus sabertooth z77

i could really use some help?

no, just barely put it in..

I have fitted the entire thing now and tightened it down.. but it feels like there is alot of pressure on it..

is that normal?

the backplate seems fine and now in contact with anything other than the MBs cpu backplate..

Have you tightened the 1 pin completely?

You need to get all the 4 pins to latch in before you fully tighten it.

Sounds that way.

Can we see some pictures of the backplate and block please?

Yeh it will be about 5-6Kg worth of mounting pressure.

I have a 1366 and the backplate for my block is touching the cpus backplate.

I just realized that the backplate isnt excatly as shown on the pic, but its deff not the others in the pack

Aye thats fine. Is just the newer blackplate has more metal machined off rather than the holes.

Did you do all the screws fairly evenly in like a cross half a turn at a time. Just on the picture I can see the threads on two screws, that would indicate that the block is leaning.

yahr..

I switched between them in a cross, tightening them about half a revolution a time.. :)

I think its good.. just a little surprised that is was that tight..

anyways, thanks for the quick answers! ;)

The mount screws have two parts to them. the upper screw portion is to mount the block to the motherboard the second portion is to apply pressure to the block. Be sure that the secondary portion is all the way loose before mounting the block. Once the block is mounted you apply even pressure to the block by turning the secondary. See photo

yahr I checked that too.. :)

I think its good.. I used the secondary screws a little to make the pressure even.. :)
