Upgrading from an 8 year old Monitor need Help

I had a HP arrive with a six inch gouge in the screen under the safety paper ! was really thinking they would try and pin it on me* but John Lewis were excellent. Got the new one before they had even collected the other :)

* I took all of my jewellery and rings off before even opening it...

I have this image in my head right now.

More of a silver Bobby George.

I've got another bigger one now (so three) it's a silver Armani one. Not something you wear when handling computers.

That's what scares me most about buying a monitor. With a GPU or something it either works or it doesn't. With a monitor is seems there are so many little things that could go wrong with it. Could have 1 dead pixel or something like that. When I shelled out $500 for this BenQ a while back I literally held my breath from the moment I started unpacking til a few minutes after turning it on.

Yeah it's a massive risk. I didn't really think about it beforehand, but just glad I ordered mine from a company who puts their customers first. I can see other outlets arguing with me and telling me I did it !

Thing is it had a large piece of paper taped over the screen which was pulled taut. I guess this way you know the screen is damaged if you see a hole in it. But there was nothing and I did not remove it until it was all situated on the desk.

Lesson learned though ! make sure you film the unboxing etc. Like I said, I know of a good few companies who would have blamed it on me and I'd have been screwed.
