upgrade choices

not up to speed on o/c just been dabbling with w/c so all pointers appreciated before i flash the plastic. will await e4300 o/c results

welll if you get a P5b and an E4300 i can pretty much give you the exact settings to change, depending on your memory

Am I reading the E4300 craze right, that it's more desireable because it has a 9x multiplier, or is there something I'm missing?

Yea and the low fsb, allows for massive fsb increases and room to drop the multi to max out the fsb completely. The E4300's are amazing bang for your money, go looks at the SuperPi times im getting now and I've got further to go :)

further help required please.

slight change of plan, up to this point i have the following gainward 8800gtx, 4gb ocz 6400 platinum revision2,xi-fi music.decided on e6300 and vista 64 oem.

only the following to finalise.motherboard and psu.

there is 3 which are -asus p5n32-esli, asus p5nt-ws-sli, evga 680i

have seen evga in a system with no problems(honest) but i am aware of existing users 680 issues.not sure if sli is worth it but would like to factor in the option

psu choices tagan easycon xl 700w, enermax infiniti modular 720, etasis et750, seasonic? powering 2 hdiscs, 2 optical, 2 c-mag pumps.

I've seen so many people with issues on 680i, HOWEVER - nVidia have just released a BIOS update that they hope sorts out the issue

The p5n32 is a good board - I think Ham has it (or I'm totally wrong :p)

The etasis or enermax look pretty good

thks kempez-wis reading about the bios update, trying to judge whether its all (680) teathing troubles or fundamental flaws

Well the IN9 I have hasn't had a problem apart from slightly lower FSB to what i was hoping Still 440FSB is nothing to snort at

u have my vote (440fsb). my only gripe would be the price of the IN9, when costing for my 3 listed , £140 to £170.but i did read review and was impressed by the completeness of all the bundled extras. looking for a balance- o-clocking potential + sli (if ever is viable vrs cost). just trying to edge my bets

How come no one has mentioned the e6400? A little birdy told me that the current batch at Tekheads are good for 3.8ghz...
