Hang on, i miss read your comment a little. I was a little confused on the question you were asking.
You are asking if the Megalodon's surround would be better than if you used the sound card to simulate the surround on the Carcharias?

Yes the Megalodon's surround will be superior in terms of surround reproduction because it's all digital. If you are to use the Carcharias through the STX you would have to use analogue 3.5mm with a digital surround converter through the STX. Thus relying on software from the sound card to reproduce surround. Going from analogue to digital with this big of a leap generally never works right. Also you are forcing speakers that were not meant to simulate surround, that is what will give you a hollow sound. But my headphone option still stands. Klipsch image one headphones are great for gaming. The sound quality is so clear and crisp that you will still hear your enemies from behind you.

and because the STX has a built in headphone amp it will make it all that much crisper.
