Ultra has released their pelt/air cooler hybrid called the ChillTec. She's a hefty one, as you'll see in the news article. We should try and get one for review. Feel free to comment below...

1kg! That will surely snap your socket clean off!

That issue asside, it will be interesting to see how it performs

Urm. Isn't the whole point of getting a pelt so you can go below ambient, meaning lots of insulation. And they're trying to sell it strapped ot a giant radiator. Sounds like condensation waiting to happen too me.

I hope they thought this through.

It probably won't even get close to ambient. Most air+pelt solutions i've seen in the past have only yielded 5oc better performance than a decent fan+heatsink combo.

Dunno about anyone else but that just says expensive waste of space to me then :-/.

Most of the ones i've seen have been a massive waste. I can only imagine that they are good for people that are afraid to go for water cooling, so want the best performance out of air cooling

I really love the Ultra Aluminus case but the rest of the stuff they sell is at best so so.

This is just poorly made junk made to appeal to those that dont know any better.:nono:

Seems to me that a lot of companies are just floundering around making the same old stuff instead of making some nice big advancements. If they spend a little longer developing that they could change the single bay unit for a double, increase the power of the pelt and build in a pump + res. Then they just take off that massive HS, add a decent block, chuck in some barbs and a radiator of your size choice.

Got yourself a noobtastic tec setup that less knowledgeable people with big wallets (which there seems to be a lot of these days) will lap up.......... kind of a thermaltake product lol

all ideas are property of overclock3d.net © ;)

I think there should be requirements to being a reviewer.

I am getting sick and tired of products on other sites that get 92s or 95% and are obviously junk.

I actually read a review from another site of a CPU heatsink that RAISED the idle temps 10C and the idiot gave it a 8 out of 10 because he said it was quiet.

That's why we keep our reviews as honest and impartial as possible. Granted, it is hard to give a friendly companies product a bad review but at the end of the day, if you can't be honest, what's the point of doing the review?

OMG, i just briefed the review, the panel dosnt even read the correct temps..... by over 15C!!!! Ultra and Thermaltake should just band together and make up some more awesome ideas!
