Too many forums adjustments

i actually like this forum, yes a few things "are missing" (as people like to keep reminding) but there are simple ways around them that take maybe 1 or 2 more clicks. its a case of people taking things for granted and when they are taken away forget how they did stuff prior to it lol

I personally can't wait to see what changes and new features they are planning :) If vB is the best solution for what they have planned then im all for it. I look forward to it TTL and i would like to clarify that i was trying to explain the situation to people and not bitch about it.

We can not bring everything back or it look exactly the same, we are on completely different forums now.

TBH stop posting slating it and just get used to it. For now its just a pain in the arse having to keep reading about it. We are doing the best we can but we are doing whats right for long term needs not just a few people bitching "I cant do this with my profile or I cant do that" take your girly dresses off and go put a proper pair of mens trousers on!

Well we dont need it to look exactly the same and we are fully aware that you guys are doing the best you can. Over the time we are getting used to the new version like those other previous versions, but big changes takes some of our time. We simply try to give you feedback in a positive way in what we like and what we dislike. Its not bitching ! its feedback, but if you dont wanna know what some of your everyday users think, then fine by me.
TTL you should really stop talking down to others like you sometimes do. Its sets a bad example tbh

whoah there, ttl bends over backwards for EVERYONE here. Just because you don't like the new forums doesn't mean that everyone doesn't. Imagine it was you and all you see is these threads popping up, left right and centre, with disparaging comments, you'd get pretty peeved after a while as well having to answer the same questions, day in, day out and sometimes frustrations vent in words as well as actions. Tom (&co) is very busy balancing a very fine juggling act between his work and bringing the new forums upto speed. Its the simple fact that some features need implementing before all the bells and whistles and shiny magpie thingummies can be loaded in.

whats done is done, IPB will not be returning due to its innate vulnerabilities, vB is here to stay, we all have to get used to it

requesting this thread now gets locked!

Azurite was not referring to the lack of current forum features, but the way that Tom communicates with us through text. It can be understandable at times, but less so at others.
No one will question the work Tom actually does, both for us and for the YouTube channel - in that aspect he's impeccable.
Still, we all have our flaws :)

I just recently joined this forum and I can't really find anything wrong with this layout. I guess it just depends on what you're used to.

agreed but tom gets a hell of a lot of undeserved flak, i re-read the op and it could be construed as petulent complaining. The last sentence in particular got my hackles up and i have nothing to do with the forum running.

So we just got used to the new look a few months ago. Now heres the new look, lacking everything good the older version had. Im sure theres several reasons for these adjustments but for me its annoying. I friggin hate coordinating here now
My inbox had several hundred msg's i had deleted but had to delete once again. My picture is gone and my signature looks different. If i want to see this weeks/days/3days posts there should be an option for it still
Also the pics looks better before this change:(
Im sure i got several other things i can discuss but my time atm is limited.

then theres comments that could easily be interpreted as a personal assault on his credibility, even with smilies in place (not saying it is, just it could be interpreted) as tom disabled posting on his page for a specific reason and now people simply resort to asking questions in toms threads instead of here where they should be asked and in my eyes tom is perfectly right to insult them (on his own page) if they can't follow simple requests.

tom's to busy insulting people on facebook and feeding his ego to fix this ;)

not trying to start a flame war, just been on my mind thats all.

I dont want to get kicked from the site for saying that but we are all entitled to our opinions.

now i'm not saying that they actually are, but from a tired, overworked perspective, i'm sure we can all agree that we've all reacted in a similar manner as tom has. all he see's is majority complaints with very few congrats for the work he has done (or whoever runs the forums) to quickly port the previous forum across with minimal delays, downtime and loss of content.

i for one am proud of the speed of the oc3d team in reacting to the situation, without unduly compromising the integrity of the forums as a malicious code intrusion could easily have been ported as well. thats probably why the forum itself is at the base building blocks, to ensure any malicious code doesn't get inadvertantly resubmitted back to the forums so we end up back at square one all over on a different provider.

all tom asks is that we are patient, while the forum is rebuilt to as close as possible as vB code allows to get to IPB code, and yes it is gonna take some time and we have to accept that features we used will be missing and potentially may never return due to code incompatibility. its one of the strategic risks you take with any decision of this sort of magnitude.

anyway my mini rant is over and i hope no-one sees this as a directed attack, and hope they see this post for what it actually is, an end to questions and requests that quite clearly are not currently warranted at this time. as everyone is aware by now of what is missing in direct comparison of the forum host coding

if you did take offence, i am sorry, but i say it like i see it, thats just who i am and i hope a line in the sand can be drawn under this time of transition and the oc3d team will be given chance to weave their coding magic, as and when it is ready to be released onto the live forum

I don't get it though, the forums look how they did before the last change, just some of the features we had before are missing, but who cares?

This is still Sparta... I mean OC3D :D

Definitely prefer this look to the old one.
Ideally, I'd like a layout the same as on Aria although this with a few modernisations would be alright.

The layout is fine, the only real problem is that this forum doesnt seem to support the mobile layout anymore (the main way in which i use this forum) which is why i havent been posting here for a while.

Is there a way to make it "mobile" compatible?

ROFL.... I love it when people try support and don't give it time, then bitch bitch bitch cos no action has been taken.

Don't worry TTL, I still love you.

Theres been a thread live for ages, he was just too busy to look, obviously Im nto busy either though :D
