Time Sync.

Changed to an actual camera. Still work to do, so not ordered lights and backdrop yet.

Sadly when I pulled the masking it took off some paint. I was really mad, then realised I had loads of touching up to do any way in areas I missed etc.

Still very annoying though. Wiring is now pretty much finished.

I think you should soften the lighting inside a little, because it completely drowned out the colour of your fittings. The red BP used was always a nice one.

Yeah, gotta get to that. Just needs dimming a bit tbh, it's way bright atm. I mean seriously it lights the house ffs.

Will take a break now (was at it til 2am, then up at 9 and been at it since) and then touch up the paint. I think it takes about 3 weeks to fully cure, and I put the tape on before it had. It only takes 24 hours to touch dry but yeah, it hadn't fully cured.

It's so nice not having any spinning hard drives. There's this eerie silence in here (I ran a Raptor, so you could always sorta feel it humming in your feet).

Turns out I had an issue with the clock. If you look at all of the pics before it went in it was much brighter. Fearing something was wrong (wiring) I popped the front (I can't remove it, it's now wired to the floor) and stuck my torch in. Screen went to full brightness. Eh?. So I removed the torch sure enough screen went dim.

*penny drops* it has a light sensor and dims at night. So to get around it I simply stuck an LED strip in there to feed it light.

Merry Christmas :D

So today I painted in the missing areas. I also made an IO cover as I totally forgot to do that and it looked like ass.

Tomorrow I want to try and make one more cover that I had an idea for on day one, but wasn't going to bother with because it was more aggro. Decided I may as well do it right, given all of the work I've put in.

Vega Devil 64 comes tomorrow, so hopefully I can button up the Triad and get it put to one side to go over to my mother's where it will become my away from home PC.

If I can find the AlienFX media plugin I shouldn't need to program anything. Will have a look for that later today :)

It's finished. I've also taken some photos (and a video) with a half decent camera, capable of transferring how the build looks in person into photos (almost, we all know it's actually close to impossible)

Enormous thank you to all of those who helped me. Whether it be through advice, support, kind words or whatever else.

Depending on how you chose to interpret this, you could take it as the best compliment or the worst insult. It doesn't look like you've done much. I know you have because I've been following. I'm sure if you posted before and after pics or were particularly familiar with the original case you'd see it instantly but to the less-trained eye it looks like it's that way from the factory. I hope you take this as positive critique on your work that it doesn't stand out as just bolted on here and slapped on there. I'm less sold on the voltmeters....but that's mainly because they are out-classed by the themed clock underneath.

Wonder if you could do an Alien-punk (think steam punk but more Giger'y) status display on the internal screen. You could probably mash something together with Aquasuite. Samurize might have worked better but seems to be dead now.

That was the whole idea. To spend weeks upon weeks doing loads that would not stick out, or be noticeable.

What kicked this off in the first place was a mod I saw that was just so clean. I know how much work goes into that, and it's far more than spending 10 mins on things that stick out like a sore thumb.

With the RGB off? it's very monotone and subtle. That was the whole idea, to bascially let the LEDs do the modding whilst keeping everything very minimalist.

That is a lot harder than it sounds and looks. I've done some really loud, obnoxious in your face mods and they have taken a quarter of the time this one took. Mostly in me making things (usually spending a whole day on something) and then offering it up the rig before it lands in the bin.

There are still two things I need to do, but again they are very subtle. The main build though? yeah happy to call that finished.

But yeah, it's quite amazing just how much s**t is in there that you can't see tbh. Spec list reads like Dreamland, only I busted my ass making sure none of it was on display.

I like clean and subtle and your build is exactly that, but flip down the front cover and it's geeked out. (more so than the watercooling and interior screen ;)).

Edit: Forgot to add, nice job!

Yup, put on the side panel and press a button and you would be none the wiser :)

I think the lighting behind your hex res is too much :S

It doesn't look so bright IRL dude. It's totally blown out in photos, but then most of it is. The more daylight you introduce to the pics the more you tone it down to where it actually is, but night pics are impossible. They also make the paint look like its run everywhere and it hasn't, because the paint reacts with the LED lighting. In person? you can barely even tell that paint is hammered.

I can quite probably dim the flow meter a bit tbh. I just haven't had time. I left for my mother's 2 days before Christmas and went back last week, but the breather pipe for my boiler froze over and I nearly died of cold. So I had to bail, and come back to my mother's. I then went back at the weekend, but I was out all day Saturday working on my mate's kid's PC (the Stingray, I will show that when it's done) and then he brought me back to my mother's as I had an appointment for a sheltered flat and needed paper work.. Went home again on Monday afternoon and that is when I set the rig up and removed all of the masking etc and Tues morning I took the pics..

Then I had to come back to my mother's house to do more paper work and I have been running ragged. I just about got the desk all cleaned up, peripherals all set up (will get some pics of that soon) and had it running and then I had to leave again lol.

Today has been crazy busy too. Had more paper work to photocopy etc. Got back to my mother's this arvo, ate dinner and just fell asleep :D

So yeah, definitely hit the ground running this year man. It has to be done though. I can't live in a place with no maintenance at all. If the heating goes? I have to freeze for a week. Sucks. I want out, and the only way I'm gonna do that is to brave up and push hard. I want this year to be even better than last, and that won't happen if I just keep taking it in the ahole.

Ah ok, well you know I hate all this RGB sillyness. It was just when I saw the green lighting on everything else in your case, it was bright but localised. However the Hex res seems to bleed lighting to the point you cant even see what it is.
