Those little annoying F@H things ..

Me and my friend terry have decided to fold for you guys @ oc3d! We have 3 6950's between us but they only put out 4k ppd each, So we are just going to fold smp ( or even both smp and gpu at the same time if we can find a way!) My i7950 does 14 k ppd, don't know how much my friends does but should be similar.

Just to confirm the team number is 98860 right?

Should we add any flags for extra ppd?

Cheers

using a different client other than the F@H SMP will let you fold on your CPU and GPU at the same time and if you guys both have i7's, -bigadv WU's will do you well with 20k+ ppd (take a few days to complete though)

Awesome, welcome to the team! Easiest way to get started is with GPU tracker. Otherwise you can use the clients direct from Stanford.

If you use the Stanford clients, be sure to use -smp in shortcut. If you want to run GPU as well, run the GPU client. AMD video cards will cause your CPU client to get less PPD, but with the added PPD from GPU you may end up with more total PPD. You will just have to run and see.

Good suggestion. Muzza, just keep in mind that if you do decide to run -bigadv you need about a 4GHz overclock on your CPU to make it worth it. Also, your machine will need to run f@h pretty much dedicated 24/7. If you game and use your PC for other things, you will probably want to do normal smp.

Welcome to the team guys, I am having withdrawal symptoms, not long to go before I am back

Welcome fellas!!!

You guys may want to look at the folding fourms @ Stanford and try the new V7 client, I hear it has some improvements for the ATI cards, not sure how good or how much though....

G/L and thanks for joining us!!!

Steve, I thought the new v7 client only allowed the WUs better suited to AMD cards to run, but those WUs aren't out yet?

Had my 470 less than a week and folding has killed it

Tried multiple drivers and it does the same, I can game with it and it folds fine (no system instability warnings) but as soon as its put under alot of stress from benching (3d mark, heaven etc) it does the above.

RMA here we come

Thanks mate,

Its with a company thats renound for being difficult with customers so i`ll need all the luck I can get

I blame the GPU bios, the fan never seemed to reach over 51% even when the temps his 85C upwards! After a day of folding i spotted the temps and manually adjusted it with afterburner but its shocking to see that the software let it get that far!

The SMP dumping a WU at 90+ % is some kind of initiation rite.. lol I think it happens to the best of us.

Never done folding at home before. but now i have a half powercomputer. I decided to give it a shot.

Brought up the little fibre picture, as my 13 week old seemed to like it spinning around, and then all of a sudden the animation started to stutter. and suddenly the Asus AI suite came up with a message saying WARNING: Vcore voltage 0.00.00V

It shocked me at first and then everything went back to normal. I HOPE lol
