what is there left to do when you have that kind of funding? Is Elite a sandbox game?

Getting money is the easy part, You also have to gain rank in the Federation if you want the Corvette or in the Empire if you want the Cutter, Both of those can take some time, Then there's the engineering aspect to really get your ship to be a monster and that takes time as you have to find the engineers and then unlock them, THEN you have to get materials.

Money is the easiest part ^_^

Got an Anaconda, Cutter, Courier, Gunship and Fer-De-Lance, All *A* equipped, Cost a few billion, Getting the Corvette when I reach Rear Admiral, until then I'm really enjoying one of the best ships for bounty hunting *IMO*

Also got some nice roof windows ^_^

Just saw a 30% discount deal for the X56 pro. basically same price as the X52pro £190 in your currency. Is that a good deal?

any ideas? i might be tempted.

Can't believe how much these are now, I paid £165 for mine of Amazon about 4 months ago.

Working on the Sirius Permit, never done it till now but need to so I can push the jump range on my Anaconda over the current 56Ly, will get it to over 60Ly eventually.

Decided to take the Corvette for a spin whilst doing it.

It costs a few billion to outfit a handful of ships? Wow that's broken. They need to fix that economy.

The ship I am flying cost me over 500 million credits in game, but you can earn that it less than 5 hours if you know how, money is quite easy to make in this game but reputation and ranks takes quite a while.

For me to reach Elite in combat I need to destroy about 3000 more ships which is my next thing to do, and I am only 1.5 ranks away from it.

The Cutter, Anaconda and Corvette are the 3 biggest ships in the game and are considered end game ships you work towards, Smaller ships like the Vulture, Cobra etc... only cost a few mill to properly outfit.

Still. It shouldn't cost over a billion. I just hate games that have the exponential economy thing. I prefer linear. If I wanted a grind I would play a F2P style game

1Bill+ is for a top end ship that has *A* rated everything and has been engineered to the bleeding edge.

You can buy a Federal Gunship which is still a fairly big ship, Considered one of the the best tanks with lots of damage, Equip it fully with the best *A* rated stuff i.e shields, Frame shift drive, Reactor, Fuel scoop etc.... and it will total up to around 130 mill.

The big 3 i.e Anaconda, Cutter and Corvette are only if you REALLY want to go stupid overkill on damage and just all out epicness ^_^

As an example, It's like Final Fantasy X, You didn't NEED to get all the Celestial weapons which alone would take hundreds of hours, But you had the choice, Same goes for any big game that gives the player the choice to get some really overkill stuff, You do not need it at all to play the game but it's fun :)

I understand that you don't need it. But it kinda makes sense to aspire to obtain that doesn't it? I'm a gamer. I want the best of the best. We all are like that. Just kinda seems boring to me personally to settle for anything less. I mean yeah I heard that the Gunship is very good for price/performance kinda thing but I want the big 3! Mostly the Corvette but still.

I haven't played in a long time. So I give it the benefit of the doubt but I stopped playing because the economy took forever. So to me thinking about 1 billion vs struggling for 1 million just ruins me wanting to come back

It took me 2 days of doing passenger missions with a Beluga cruise liner to get 1.1 Billion, Pick up 160 passengers at around 1Mill to 10Mill each group from Barr Survey and then drop the passengers off at Searfoss Enterprise, Total time 1 hour and average payout is around 60Mill up to 100Mill.

It may sound like a lot but once you get in the swing of things credits are p*** easy to get.

To make some good creds, Do enough missions to be able to afford a Cobra MK3, Install 4 x economy cabins, A fuel scoop, Extra fuel tank, Strip out all weapons and your shield, Totals up to 800K, Now you should be able to go around 10 light years, Keep doing passenger missions until you can afford 1.5 Million to upgrade to the Dolphin which can now house 6 x economy cabins, Further increasing money that's able to be earned.

Rinse and repeat so you climb the ship ladder.

Sounds like a lot of grinding. I just wish I had somebody to play with honestly. Space gets lonely lol
I mostly play WoT because I can do a battle or two then get off. I don't play as much anymore. My Computer Science courses and getting ready for Calculus takes up all my time.

If you have the Horizons season pass/expansion you can jump into my Corvette with me, Jump into one of the fighters in my bay and do some bounty hunting with me, We both get a share of the proceeds and it's hella fun ^_^

You'd be in the ickle ship :p

Around mid Dec I'll take you up on that offer. I am done with my courses around that time.

Funny looking ship. ^_^

Awesome !

The Corvette from the front to me kind of looks like an Imperial Star destroyer, Even more so if you get the ship kit and white paint ^_^

The smaller 1 x man federal fighter is actually a big ship in terms of scale, You really don't realise how massive everything in ED is until you go VR.

First time I got into a fighter and launched out of a ship in VR it made my jaw drop and actually giggle a little, The scale is that huge.

Pic of the fighter zoomed in on me/my avatar for scale.

You'd be surprised how quick the credits come in, I did combat for the start got a hauler rare goods trading then worked up through the type 6,7,9 this was before they added passenger trips type 9 you can do 2mill per round trip which can result in 8 to 10 mill an hour, now they have passenger trips I'd probably go that way
I think the biggest problem with this and all games that work on economics is you get to a point of what now, my plan is once they finish Horizons I'm going to delete my save and start from fresh and see what's improved. I just started WOW again but on an account that doesn't have 100's of 1000's of gold and it's enjoyable not just being able to go buy what ever you need

Thanks for posting this. I'm absolutely loving this game; last night was the first I haven't played it since I about it two weeks ago and that's only because I passed out after putting my daughter to bed. Also thanks for your SuperCruise approach tips, they helped a lot.

I have a Cobra Mk.III and have been pottering around doing some trading/exploring/bounty hunting trying to decide on a home-base so I can work up some reputation to start taking on passenger missions and here you are with an ideal set-up. Thanks!

Give me a shout if you ever want to do some multi crew bounty hunting, you hop in 1 of my fighters and I'll stay in the mother ship with the big guns, you get a nice cut of the profits and it goes toward your combat rank also :)

On a side note, Breath of the Wild looks great at 4K ^_^

Damn those look nice, If SC does eventually come out of alpha and then beta and into a full on game, Frontier Developments are going to really need to up their dev work on Elite Dangerous as it won't be able to compete in any way shape or form.

SC has always had the graphics advantage due to Cryengine. It just is all promise and hype and no actual game until 3.0 came out. It's slowly coming along, very slowly, but if it can deliver on promises than ED stands no chance unless they pull something chuffing amazing!
