Here's an equation for you:

(Anno2205+(3440x1440))/GsyncX34) =

Still in the early stages but enjoying it so far :)

Is Anno like a Simcity but actuall good? Like City Skylines?

It is and isn't in a way yes you build a city but also you need to provide all the needs of the population food and water to start but as you upgrade the population they need more luxury stuff, and therein is where it gets interesting as you have to mange layout of fields and production chains to take up as little space as possible as there is limited space. I'd suggest looking at Leafonthewin on YT to get an idea of what Anno is about.

My biggest concern with Anno 2205 is the lack of random maps there is only 9 zones at the moment and once you have figured out the best layout for those zones how much replay value, Anno 2070 only had about 6 islands of varying size and shape but you could randomise how many of those islands big map, small map and you couldn't grow everything on an island only 3 types of seeds and not every island had all the resources, so you could be setting up trade routes from 4 islands to create 1 finished product, whereas Anno 2205 the trade routes are auto setup between islands in a zone and you have unlimited resources (except for rare resources) you can grow anything anywhere in a zone, yes some things have to be shipped in from other zones

I never played Simcity and I didn't like City Skylines much, only played an hour of it as it never dew me in me, probably because there was no story or plot line; exceedingly dull.

Anno 2205 on the other hand has a story which is okay. All of what Greenback says is true and it is a departure on some of the elements that made Anno 2070 so popular. For example the economics and trade has been dumbed down, there are caps on funds and commodities, the war parts are in separate "crisis zones" so they don't interfere with your main islands.

It is enjoyable, looks lovely (quite demanding graphically) and there are plenty of progression steps along the way. As Greenback says, it's replayability is in question due to the lack of random maps or online play, but that could come at a later date.

I like to disable the HUD and icons, take a screenshot and use it as my wallpaper - I made that! :)

Would you guys recommend 200 over the new one then? I'd hate to get a dumbed version. I prefer higher difficulties:p

As it stands at the moment I'd say 2070 with DLC's is a better Anno, they are bringing out a free dlc for 2205 in January and a paid for 1 in February, I'm not saying 2205 is all bad. I think for someone who has never played before it's ok but anyone who has played 1404 or 2070 it's dumbed down to much and I feel you will always be waiting for that next dlc.
things I don't like
1: no random map
2: fields are to simple to lay out
3: no AI competition
4: no freeplay if you want to build a city you need to do the campaign again
5: higher level needs are to simple to produce
6: the moon is only worth doing minimum to get the power, also applies to the Arctic

You're at an asp and my most expensive ship is the Diamond Back Scout:p

I also have a Python sitting in the hangar for the big community events where we need a lot of cargo transferred to a location.

Hmm I'll look into it if it's on sale and watch some YT vids to see if it's worth playing:)
Thanks for the tips though! Appreciate it!

Alright now you are just boasting! I only have one ship and it's almost stock:p

I might have been boasting a bit yeah, also playing since beta, naturally ive made some money. That said i played enough elite this week for the rest of this month, a 3300 light year exploration tour in a single day was quite mad.

I first started playing a day or two after the alpha ended and entered closed beta. I don't play as much as I want to though. It's kinda my go to game though when i'm annoyed of other multiplayer games.

Same - I switch between this, Amored Warfare, WoT, WoWS and meaningful interactions with family (basically when my missus says to spend time with her)

Mainly playing ED and trying to save up for a Corvette. It's a long grind though and I don't have enough empire rank for anything fun that side yet.

Hopefully put in a few good hours this weekend.

Basically same thing for me. I play WoT/WoWs/ TW and then try to fit in ED and have to hang out with the gf when she says so. 1st world problems:p

Finally got around to playing MGS 5.

Man is it a lot of fun. Seriously looking forward to sinking boatloads of time into this over the Christmas. ^_^
