It's not at all it's just logical.

If they are selling super expensive ships outright and you're going to give people monthly access to it, you charge a large rental fee to compensate. All the content for $40 is probably not enough. It was a conservative estimate
 
Slowly creeping towards 300 million dollars and they still want more and more and more.

While there is nothing wrong with wanting more money(as development goes on they still need funding) but their issue imo outside perspective opinion is the fact that they have so little to show for it. I don't have anything against them though. Just their management.

I hope the game comes out properly eventually but as you said, Mismanagement, If it does come out i.e goes gold, Then it'll be another 2 years away optimistically, If it doesn't come out by then it'll never come out and the money donated will be quietly dispersed among staff and that will be that.

Just started playing the Resident Evil 3 Remake, Brilliant, Graphically I am very impressed, Bit of a shocker when you look at the original though ^_^
