Edit: Bought Alan Wake yesterday, I never knew it came out, remembe screenshots of it befor DX10 came out but said it wasn't coming to PC. I LOVE IT! You'll notice two golden guns, are they Max Paynes? There was also painkillers in the bathroom cupboard, the manuscript was Max's voice and look, those famous words he said "Honey I'm home". EPIC. Buy this game whilst it's £2-3.

Use Shadowplay, then any editing is done in Vegas, rendered to MP4 straight to the tubes, although tubes takes the quality out like no ones business!

fair enough, shame AMD don't have a equivalent to shadowplay.

i think radeonpro has some kind of option for using the video engine, failing that if you've got a Intel CPU use Quicksync, you can get some nice quality from it.

Bandicam has an alternative to Shadowplay for AMD GPUs, without a license you are limited to 10mins and there is a watermark on vids though.

Does around 1GB per minute for 1080p 60fps and 100% quality settings. You can lower that to by changing quality settings, resolution and FPS.
It only seems to work with the settings values it gives you though, if you try to use custom ones the decoder fails to start.

You can get the file sizes down to about a 10th of the original size or slightly more with minimal quality loss if you re-encode the videos with Handbrake using the normal preset though. So it's best to record on max settings and then just re-encode using Handbrake.

Another problem I was having with it as well is if I use max quality settings at 1920x1080 the video would come out stuttering and the audio sync would be off. Re-encoding the vids in Handbrake fixes the stuttering and audio sync so it's not a big prob tbh.

I'm uploading a vid to youtube of BF4 for the section I used to FPS bench my 7950 ready to post in a mini review i'm doing of my 290 Tri-X for when I get it.
I'll post it here once it's uploaded, remember Youtube also re-encodes the vids as well so the file isn't going to look as good as the original dose.

The original file was ~7gb but after re-encoding in Handbrake it came out at 786mb or there abouts. Compared to the other vids I have done BF4 hasn't come out as well as the others for some reason, it still looks ok though.

Well here is the vid... Youtube raped the quality right out of it Gonna have to upload the original to Youtube to maintain decent quality, if only Virgin Media's uploads speeds didn't suck.

im sure recently more than before youtube quality has been getting shitter and shitter! i cant wait they get this H.265 Codec sorted, i mean come on its 2014 everyone has reasonable internet speeds we can handle 1080p streaming!

Youtube compression is pretty bad, i've notice peoples video quality on a few channels i'm subscribed to have all gotten worse recently. Looks like they have the compression turned up to high, it's not like Google can't afford the storage needed for better quality vids.

More Half-Life 2 on Linux, namely Episode 1 & 2. Runs so well, I almost completely forget I'm not using Windows. This isn't the norm, since us Linux gamers have to put up with a lot of issues normally.

On a more positive note, these games are still excellent after all the these years. It's still hard to find single player FPS's that come close.

No it wasn't the cinematic mod but just Googled HL2 mods and you can tell a bloke made it.

Found it, it was called HL2 Lost Coast, can't find any screenshots accept a poor one and LOL'ed, the shandiliers look awful but back then it was one of them situations if I remember right, ste into the room tey were in and you'd take a big hit on your fps because of them. I had a 6600GT at the time which handled them fine but anything before it...nu uh.
