The Titan Z is NOT cancelled - Confirmed by Nvidia's CEO

I could build my rig 12 times over for that price... you should have to justify your purchase to a jury before you are allowed to buy one, surely no one needs it that much.

If the performance or the price was right there would be a sound argument to buy one.

If the performance was considerably more than two single Titan Blacks then some people would have a use for the Titan Z regardless of price, unfortunately the performance is quite a bit less than two Titan Blacks.

A fair price for the Titan Z would be around £1200 based on likely performance and the fact it has the compute abilities.

Even AMDs 295X2 is a total rip off and should be closer to £900, come on AMD you can get a top quality AIO cooler for a CPU for £100 and it should be easy to get 2 Hawaii chips on the same PCB for £800 and still make a big profit.

They don't want a big profit though, The share holder fatties want HUGE profit.

Well any company is going to want to make the max profit possible, regardless of whether it's shareholders or management driving the decision. I'm sure AMD and Nvidia would willingly charge us $10000 a pop for their flagship graphics cards, but the market isn't going to be willing to pay that.

As ever, if you don't like it - vote with your wallet and don't buy it. :p

Vlada where are you? I heard Titan Z is better than K|ngp|n and you clearly want two of them.

Go on son, order them pronto ;)

Lol a core of only 705? How can they honestly expect the Titan Z to not be a huge failure. I mean, only the dumbest people will buy it regardless of how fast it is anyway. But with those clocks and the performance of that cooler I doubt it will even keep up with let alone beat the R9 295X2. And for twice the price of an already overpriced card with the same performance, you actually have to be a mentally ill millionaire to want one.

This is only really going to appeal to the developer in reality and not the "Hardcore Gamer" as nVidia would have us believe.

GeForce GTX TITAN Z is a gaming monster, built to power the most extreme gaming rigs on the planet. With a massive 5760 cores and 12 GB of 7 Gbps GDDR5 memory, TITAN Z gives you truly amazing performance—easily making it the fastest graphics card we’ve ever made.

This is a serious card built for serious gamers. TITAN Z is designed with the highest-grade components to deliver the best experience – incredible speed and cool, quiet performance—all in a stunningly crafted aluminum case.

but then again why would a Dev buy this when nVidia already cater with the Quadro & Tesla compute cards... I still fail to see where this fits in.

Funny how they keep going on about gaming. Nvidia's greed and bullshit marketing is so insane right now. Only gotten worse in the past years.

Dont take this the wrong way guys, but is Nvidia trying to commit suicide or something? It seems that it is trying to ruin its public image and burning itself down, ofc there are still going to be those supid fan boy types that just buy from the company.

Also I though the titan-z was a dual gpu card that got delayed due to being unable to compete with the 295x2? its like AMD is the superior company... trying to save face or something? I mean their GPUs are still great (when reasonably priced) they could easily have expanded their consumer pool by pricing their GPUs more reasonably 1 massively overpriced GPU aint gonna be more profitable then many more reasonably priced GPU sales, no matter the manufacturing cost... only gonna be so many morons out there Nvidia.

hell most people dont even buy GPUs in the 290x price range.

I think you underestimate quite how many stupid fanboys Nvidia has :(. They're also the bigger company with more of a hold on the prebuilt gaming pc market. AMD might catch up if Nvidia don't touch their pricing though.
