The thing is, most people don't compare like for like. They will compare a Intel Bad Axe 975 vs a Gigabyte DS3 or something.

Kemp has tested a 965 and 975 board from abit and found no difference worth talking about. Same situation as when me and Kemp compared our Asus P5B and P5W against eachother.

Both chipsets have similar overclocking potential, but there seems to be a few more boards on the 965 chipset at the moment capable of the higher FSB's without mods.

How about some of teh lower end conroe boards? For those of us who can't spend £150 on a motherboard...

Unfortunately the AB9 doesn't have a very good reputation as an overclocker (& I regrettably say that as I'm probably 1 of the most rabid Abit fans on the net).

Where other 965 boards like the P5B, Gigabytes & Biostar Tforce are getting 500fsb+ people are toiling to get over 400 on the AB9 series.

Just thinking that there are a lot of people like myself trying to decide between e.g. a good 975 or 965 for a 6600 or even a 965/6400 (8x450=3.6Ghz same as 9x400 for a 6600/975, of course 9x450 would be even better :p ).

Yup that's a different one... This is the one that I have (but will be selling or returning :(): http://www.silverstonetek.com/products-ST405w.htm

It might actually be cool to see an Antec powersupply test/roundup. They've been in the PSU game for ages, but aren't known for having the best nor worst powersupplies. We should see where OC3D ranks em.

LOL this not very technical but I have had that PS for 6 mos and its been in 10 diff comps. Works like a CHAMP!

I compared the insides to a bunch of others and its much better made, nice heatsinks.

I would say its one of the best $50 PS there is..

was looking for watercooling parts and came across this fan. boasts 90cfm 18db... somehow i dont believe it but it has the price tag for it 20 US.

Those are the fans I use in my mods (they used to be $30) They are EXCELLENT fans but not 90CFM .

What they are is very quiet, smooth and if you turn the voltage down a little they are almost silent.

They do blow quite a bit of air.

Oh yea, they are a LOT thicker than the pict. (1 1/2" thick)

dont supose you could review some DVD burners, on noise, heat, performance, quality of final product, etc?

i have a pair of NEC ones, and they're really nice, but i would like to know if there is anything better out there...

i've had lite-on ....yuk

Could do but there has been quite a few reviews on burners already and all of the big manufacturers are pretty much of a muchness.

Heat output would not be in a DVD burner review though

with the antec p182 special mirror/chrome ed coming out soon i thought i might try my luck and ask for a review of it if possible :)

no doubt it will be a fairly popular case, not to mention how sexy it looks:yumyum: .

cheers.
