There are many ways to connect to the internet, the main way is through a phone line as you all know. Just wondering what speeds you guys get and how much bandwidth you use a month. It's getting incredible hard to find a ISP which will give you truly unlimited usage ( of the top of my head i can only think of 3 or 4 ) that being said do you need unlimited usage. I no i do,, i can go through 40gb in less than 2 days so that rules out nearly every company except the one am with and a few others.

So who are you guys with and do they pose caps and bandwidth limitations on you. And do you think a company like BT should be able to advertise that there service has unlimited usage when we all no that they don't.

im with sky, nets reliable no useage caps or speed throttling and best of all its completely unlimited

Im with Virgin media, got their 10Mb package, always get the speed stated, but they do throttle the speed if i download more than 4Gb in one day, which means i it could take me a couple of session/days if i wanna download a game from Steam. 4Gb is small change now days, i could understand if i was bittorrenting all day, but for the most part i just have normal usage with ocassional "spikes" when i want to download games or movies, but they still trottle me regardless

I'm with BT I have the unlimited package, but every month in the evening I get dropped down to 1meg, as I am always over my usage, so obviously it's not unlimited then

i can download a song in 2secs and a HD movie in 15-20mins

soon i will be in the top 1%, as 100mb comes to my area next month - whoopee

Maybe I will ask my landlord if we can have virgin media....... try and catch him in a good mood

After 6pm will be down to 1mb/s as although I am on an unlimited package with BT, I am over my allowance this month, and get throttled in peak times........

The 100mb is crazy. my friend has the VIP package with virgin 1gb in less than 80 seconds.

True but nearly every source of data is sent by people who have over 1GB of bandwidth.
