update
the first owner of the radiator was pretty rough with it as u can see in the photos below
straightened the damaged fins and cleaned it with the air-compressor in order to spray it
back to the case again
primed the whole mdf surface . 2 coats with highly thinned primer and the last coat thinned to the proper ratio. between the coats there was sanding to remove the suiciding bugs and dust particles
next step was to open a window at the right panel . jigsaw did most of the job and sanding paper the rest
windows hole is ready
next step was to cut a acrylic piece for the window . I used a thick (12mm) sheet , the same I used in the dark eldar themed project
marked the area where the cut would take place
sanding again with a sander and then with sanding sponge
that acrylic sheet had been used for years as a self in a store. so there were many scratches on it but that's not very big of a problem cause I have removed scratches from acrylic in the past
as I was removing the tape (which was stuck on the acrylic sheet for more than a year) I saw that it was stuck for good and was difficult to remove. I used the heat-gun which made the tape removal easy but the remaining glue was refreshed . god damn it
finally, after searcing in google I found that oil is the solution. very easy and more than effective!
after having cleaned the surface I had to remove the scratches . begun wet sanding with 400grit sanding paper, then 600g ,800 , 1000, ...etc and finished it with 2000 grit which was the finer I had.
then rubbing compound and polishing compound.
next step was the acrylic etching.
found a pic in google , reversed it and printed it on A4 sheet.
dremels time!!
flexible shaft , one the best tools.
that's all for now folks
thanx for watching
