minor update:
primed the mdf panels from the inside to protect them from humidity. 2 layers over-thinned primer and a final one thinned to the proper ratio
I got my new router few days ago . unfortunately weather was pretty bad so I had to postpone the early first use of it for a sunny day (like today). after having read the manual and done a little practice on retail pieces I had proceed to the mdf top panel.
the routed edges are done for hiding the gaps between the panels and give a stylish line to the case. now matter how accurate the mdf cuts are there will always be gaps between them.
