Saturday I'm goin' HAM on the case again. I will finish the relocation of the 3rd 480 to the rear of the case. Clean up the connection to the top of the res [I hate the way it looks in the pic]. And...

INSTALL AN AMD FX 8320 BLACK EDITION AM3+ 3.5GHz I SNAGGED FOR $99USD!!!!!

I know this text format is frowned upon, but, let me have this one folks!!!

I will not bore you with my Black Friday antics as to how I gained possession of this fine CPU. Just know that I have it and I can't contain myself! It's 8 cores of pure FPS shredding potential!!! I should be able to run Mine Sweeper now.

And, The medicine bottle is back for a limited time like the McRib.

Stay tuned...:D

After getting my MoBo to talk to it's new friend correctly, I dug up some super fast GSkill Sniper 2133 sticks just to see if I could marry it all. Took some tweaking and A LOT of RTFM'n, couple of BSODs and post hangs, but it's all singing super fast frequencies at the moment.

I'm kinda diggin' the blockless-mem right now. Maybe 'cuz I been staring at it under liquid for quite some time now. I might throw the blocks on 'em at some point. I didn't get around to modding the case yet. I might be able to "incapacitate" the wife tomorrow so I can cut some metal. We'll see.

Stay tuned...

I can only imagine you looking exactly like your avatar when you are building this thing ;)

Nice deal on that CPU btw!

Same here, but in addition I usually picture him with some smoke coming out of his ears
because he just got an electric shock or something like that.

Progress...

The medicine bottle has been retired...

After a failed attempt at precisely drilling this outlet hole I found an easier way. I enlarged the failed hole. Then drilled a correct hole in what is now a cover plate. This way I have wiggle room to get the acrylic going North and South. However, it looks crooked in this pic. I must have forgotten to align it before the snap.

This hole has been repurposed. It will also be cleaned up with the same method explained prior.

The new home for the ONE needed fan controller. Turns out I did buy too many. But, I don't need to purchase replacements!!

That's it for now folks.

I'm exited to see more and when it's finished with LED's reflecting on the metal.
I am considering the following schemes: Bare aluminum, gun metal gray guts and flat black outs, all flat black. Very good chance no LEDs will be utilized.

Updates!?!?!?!?
Man...where do I start. Simply stated there are no funds for progress right now. I have been sketching ideas for the side panels and what not. Thankfully it's in an operative state which prevents me from rushing completion. The only updates are I've moved my computer "room" to the garage. A lot more room to think in here. And I purchased an ASUS RT-AC1750 to step my home network game up. However, there will be updates soon 'cus it's tax return time!! ^_^;):D

Dead Space

Fishing for ideas here. Turns out I will not be using the canobolized hot swap cage from my Corsair Obsidian 800D, and I will no long require a cage for fan controllers. This has left a lot of dead space around the pump-res config. I've been staring at it for quite some time now. My ideas to fill the space as of late are not to my liking. I don't want it to look like I'm just filling space. For example I was thinking of mounting two Bitspower reservoirs to the back wall and unifying them at the bottom to feed the pumps. This sucks because I am not a fan of large reservoirs. I've also seen this in other builds and it is not impressive to me. I've also thought about putting a NAS in that area which would re-purpose the hot swap cage. But, I'm trying to phase out spinning storage. There is plenty of room for another MoBo and SSDs to be mounted. I DEFINITELY have enough rad to add another CPU to the loop. Thoughts??...^_^

Having a little server system to run Minecraft servers or whatever you play would be awesome :D maybe you could build a KVM switch into it somehow so you hit a key combo and BANG you're looking at the other system through your monitor and your keyboard and mouse work :)

Waiting for deliveries...

Received an unexpected bonus at work. Best believe some orders were made!! Including like 3 feet of E22 acrylic. Can't wait to play with that stuff! ;)

Meanwhile...

UN brackets to the rescue. It's as if I initially planned for the pumps to be mounted here. The Crystal Link is for mock up, of course, and will be replaced with a solid line. I love it when I have room for new ideas!

Deliveries will arrive by the end of the week. This weekend I will get NO SLEEP!!

Stay tuned...
