Tech of tomorrow?

I'm actually calling bullshit, some people out there want to watch people like this get burned out of pure jealously.

He's had some dodgy dealings in the past but to my understanding is that it was mostly out of his control.

Provide contextual information not this shit, the image provided is super easy to manipulate and i refuse to jump on the hate train until solid evidence is provided.

If it is true, then Elric needs to have his head slapped around as he's in a very privileged position which he shouldn't abuse.

You cant blame any YouTuber for getting ad sponsorship, it's 100% within their rights to do so. They run the risk of alienating viewer bases but hey £££££.

sorry for the swearing tom, but people like this get under my skin, but maybe the reason why he lost his youtube channel is because the way he talks to people....

the part that really p****s me off it the way he refers to people as a retard
also since when is being gay/queer be mean a bad thing? welcome to the 21st century Elric..

it's like he's playing COD on xbox all that's left to do is for him to call you a camper then it's complete lol

Linus gives back to his fans/followers buy selling off stuff for cheap, also LOADS of give-a-ways and sells t-shirts and cups/coffee mugs (something like this should be done with every well known youtuber)

I really don't like that; The selling of T-Shirts and Mugs. Those items seem over priced, and the actual profit to youtubers is low. It's like a 3 dollar commission on a 20 dollar T-shirts. A butt load of youtubers urge and push their fans to buy this gear so the youtubers get cash, but since the profit margin is sooo low, its not worth it. I guess this can be okay, as an optional thing, but youtubers should not make their fans buy this crap if it is such poor profit margin.

If the youtubers want/need cash, they should just use paragon, or sell something else.

The whole thing is leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Most big youtubers make 2-3 bucks per 1000 views. IF they have 1000 videos, and each video gets 100 views a day, thats 100k views, and 200-300 dollars a day. Even without uploading anything at all. Most big youtubers are financially secure for the next decade, with the exception of people that just piss all their money away.

All I am saying is, pressuring your audience to buy merchandise for purpose of profit is bad because they cause the merchandise company to make more profit then they make themselves from the merchandise.

sigh, why do people even go for extra profit when they earn 50k+ a month?

Where does the safe zone end, and the insatiable greed start?

I can't tell.

You want to team viewer me? lol
Also, I have no problem with youtube ad sponsorship. The problem is those poor taste audible.com, squarespace, website commercials that are inside of the actual video, like you go in the rendering program and drag and drop a 15 second ad inside the video itself.

I did lol. kind of have a bitter taste in my mouth when i hear his voice.
Anyway I'm never going to buy an audio book, or square space. Word press basically made website making super easy anyway. It was just super annoying to have the same lame, boring ads crammed down my throat. At least youtube ads have a giant variety.
At first I felt like i need to spread the message all over the internet.
Now I kind of just dont care.
My biggest pet peeve is when people take stuff for granted. Claiming credit for something that is a lottery. Being so self absorbed, they themselves believe that they earned something.

Motherboardsorg was borderline something that can be taken credit for.

I consistent trick I've noticed on youtube, is uploading a massive amount of videos. YT channels that have 1k or 2k videos, usually breach the 100k mark, and then the 500k mark and even hit a million subscribers. But not everyone whom has made a thousand videos gets successful. This one time I came across a youtube channel of a young talented gamer. He made a halo 4 lets play. I didnt have a xbox so I watched halo 4 on YT. He was funny, good at the game, and the videos were really good. However it kind of broke my heart because he had 1k uploads and only like 5k or 29k subs or something. All the high quality videos he uploaded had like 100 to 500 views. All that work, all that effort, all that quality. For nothing basically. I felt super bad for this person. I used to think that if you upload 1-2k videos, you get successful no matter what. That has been disproven by this persons youtube channel.

There is no trick, there is no pattern, there doesn't seem anyway to fool youtube for success. Youtube videos snowball because of youtube mechanics. Videos it thinks are good based on views and audience retention will get more views. My friend funnyswirl uploaded a video of spongebob 3d game gameplay. It was awkward, had long pauses, 480p i think, so bad quality, no commentary. The video got 7 million views.

He did nothing right here, and got a massive amount of views. What I am stating, is that youtube is random. Many super successful people, because of pure luck. These super successful people are self absorbed and they think they actually earned what they have.

Anyway I am over this whole thing. I feel that i over-stayed my welcome on this thread. Nothing I can do about him, it's pointless to bother.

i think you've missed the point mate, some people just want to have a t-shirt or a mug just for sake of owning one and when people go to lan parties other people can see what sort of thing there into, a lot like band t-shirts at gigs.

I wouldn't mind getting an OC3D T-Shirt or other apparel :)

It became too much hassle tbh peeps - I need more bodies doing basic stuff before we even think about this kind of thing again!

Was thinking about something like this on a v-neck or standard t-shirt, Haven't got the font right though, Might also make a red version and a white version -
