I have about £400-£600(more if need be) to whack on a complete new system top to bottom except monitor so I need everything from case to CPU, what can you guys suggest as I'm more to upgrade very old machines and make them Windows 7 such as Pentium 4's etc.

I will mainly be using it for Football Manager, Photoshop, Itunes, Firefox, lots of things running at once basically.

Thanks been a long time lurker

Also would take any suggestions for a decent keyboard and mouse as mine are useless the only thing I have in place is a good monitor as the old system can go as most of it is archaic or getting there.

The thing is I don't need the graphics to be tip top, Football Manager is hardly graphics cutting and only rarely do I use PS, would sooner ramp up the Processor to an i5 or i7 Sandy Bridge?

then look at the system i linked to then choose a diff GPU the cpu, mobo, ram, cooler is the onlything thats a bundle the rest can be changed

5770 is about £100 or a 6850 or 460 for £150 that will bump the price down. Try and spend as much as you can stretch as it will be more future proof.

Cheers guys, I love my music what would you suggest for that, it will be listened to through headphones.

onboard sound is 'alright' you can get an ok sound card for £20-30. The asus xonar range has some cheapo ones which perform, creative ive had some issues with drivers but I dont have a massive knowledge on recent ones. I use a yamaha o1x

I've decided on an I7 SandyBrdige with 8gb Mushkin ram, what else can people suggest to go with it include mobo, gfx card, psu, case, fans etc

Depends on your budget but heres what i personally would get

Mobo: gigabyte P67A-UD7

GPU: GTX 570

PSU: Corsair tx750

Case: NZXT Phantom

Fans: Noctua/NZXT

Heatsink: Noctua NH-D14

Mobo: gigabyte P67A-UD7 - £280

GPU: GTX 560 - £210

PSU: Corsair tx650 - £65

Case: NZXT Phantom - £105

Fans: Noctua/NZXT

Heatsink: Noctua NH-D14 -£60

well with all of that comes to £660 leaves you 40 to spend on extra fans
