Streaming movies stopping after router change

I changed my router from the regular Plusnet one to a Belking play N405 DB, and since the swap every time I try to stream a movie after about 15 - 20 mins it stops. In stop I mean, stops and shows a black screen with the play icon, like at the start of any movie. I have tried different browsers and different source links and it is the same whatever. Could this be something to do with a router setting or something else ?

Hi.

I'd be tempted to log onto the router using its default IP (if your not sure then let me know and I'll type it out) and try some of the following:

* Log on to router and disable QoS function.

* Change my DNS on my local network card first to Google (8.8.8.8) or OpenDNS (208.67.222.22..i think) then add to router.

* Check the temp of your router and move if necessary

* Disable security settings like "DoS (denial of service)" etc....NOT FIREWALL!! Most routers have certain services which stop hackers from flooding your network but this traffic can sometimes look malicious even when its not.

Try some of the above and let me know how you get on. If you need help or unsure what setting does then please post back and ill explain.

Good Luck!

Cheers mate, it only seems to be on clicktoview.org links for some reason now. I will give your ideas a go.

Hi there mate, I've done some of the above apart from the " Disable security settings like "DoS (denial of service)" etc....NOT FIREWALL!! Most routers have certain services which stop hackers from flooding your network but this traffic can sometimes look malicious even when its not " and " Change my DNS on my local network card first to Google (8.8.8.8) or OpenDNS (208.67.222.22..i think) then add to router " as I have no clue whatsoever .
