So since getting my power saving rig finished (and now my daily beater, due to low power consumption) I've slowly been moving games and apps over and seeing how they run on it. Obviously the CPU is quite slow (being 2ghz) but everything so far seems to be perfectly smooth.
So last night I installed Mirror's Edge Catalyst and noticed that it was stuttering a little bit. Not a lot, just at the beginning/end of cut scenes and the beginning/end of levels. I figured it was because of the CPU. I started out with it on average graphics but quickly increased it to ultra. Oddly it seemed to run better and the stutters were gone when I enabled ultra. So I started out playing and then I heard Windows make a notification sound and the game froze. So I figured I may have ran out of VRAM but when I went back to Windows it said something along the lines of -
"The video adapter was physically removed from the system". Eh? This was a DX error btw. So I downloaded the web installer for DX but it said everything was up to date. I did notice some of the textures of the cut scene people were flickering a little before that.
I suspected the Fury X may had gone bad but the day before I played Dead Island for hours and hours. So I Googled the issue and people were having it with BF4 apparently. So this may be a DICE Frost Bite issue? any one else ever had this error?
I loaded the game back up and played it for about another hour with no issues and no glitches.
