SteelSeries 7H Analog Microphone static

Merry Christmas for yesterday everyone

I got a SteelSeries 7H yesterday and I went to plug it into my computer today and to go onto Skype with my friends and I got kicked from the call becaus there was an unbelievable amount of static coming from my microphone. I then booted up my laptop just to make sure that it wasn't my motherboard but I had the same problem with my laptop.

Anyone have any ideas?

The power in your room may be fairly messy. When you tried it with your laptop did you run it off battery or off the wall plug?

Other causes may be a bad cable or solder connection - if so take them back.
