Yeah was thinking of getting a 300g raptor for £100 seen a review saying they can do 200mb a sec so is that not about the same as a ssd heard the new ones ar very quiet

are sata 6gb in a raid reaqlly better than an ssd???? if so I may go that route I had an issue with my ssd so it went back and while waiting for it to clear I got 2 hybrid hhsd and raided those and well one was faulty lol so now on a single one. Which isnt horrible but its not like the ssd.

Say you want a £200 SSD with 275Mb/s

Get 4x £50 126Mb/s drives and bam you have 504Mb/s; way more than the SSD's speed

but the thing with raid0 is u have 4 drives there and u have to worry about reliability since u have 4 times more chance of losing ur stuff if only one drive goes to hell

that is why you never have raid ALONE..... all ways backup regulary to seperate larger HDDs

Unless you're like me and don't mind losing all your data. If all your games are on Steam or DVD you can easily reinstall them in a day or two on a decent rig.

Yeah but for what's in it you may aswell just get an SSD and done with it
