Oh okay.. Don't mistake me for being rude but, what is your problem? Be honest. But first of all, if you can, stay on topic. That's another thread, for another user, that thread has no purpose here. Call me a wannabe mod, but unless you have anything useful to comment to the OP about the task in hand, don't comment.
I don't have a problem. I stated facts. When it comes down to performance, price and everything added in the Plextor is the best
value SSD on the market right now. It's better than the Samsung and it does everything the Neutron can for £38 less. Of course I didn't point out all of those reasons (and it has better IOPs) I just said, very quickly, that right now they offer the best price per GB, best performance per price and so on.
You then came along and basically and said -
Not really the best, no. The Plextor M5 Pro SSD is actually pretty much on par with the Corsair Neutron GTX. Except with the M5 Pro SSD's you get more GB's than Neutron GTX, and is somewhat cheaper. The only advantages the M5 Pro has over the Neutron GTX (Apart from the price) is the extra 16GB's, the little higher IOPS, and the less power consumption.
So what's it to be? either your own admission that they are better than the Neutron or, you arguing the toss and telling me they're not?
If you're going to disagree with me that's fine, however, try and put forward the reasons you think so. You also say Crucial suck. Hmm, funny that ! I don't really see why unless of course you want to hang draw and quarter them over the 5000 hour bug?
Uh, Well yeah no shit'. Of course money is a factor in everything. And especially when one is on a budget. To answer your original question though for how many times I don't know, XFX and Dabs are both fine. If the thread maker does have a problem with his GPU, then so be it? There's a chance that any component could malfunction. Just specifically targeting XFX and Dabs is a little silly. So by that, I find your logic very perplexing.
No, XFX and Dabs are not both fine. I told you why in another thread. Dabs are owned by BT so their 'staff' are nothing but low paid monkeys who don't know a computer from their asshole, let alone care about what they're doing.
If they were any good you would see people singing their praises. Go and look up some consumer reviews.
Secondly XFX are not fine either. Their cards are nothing but stock crap with pants coolers stuck on and their customer service simply doesn't exist. If you weren't sure of that then simply take a look around this forum. There are complaints about XFX regularly. You can also add Sapphire to that list too. Trying to solve a problem with them involves leaving web notes for people who can't even speak English and whose only answer to a tech problem is "Please contact your retailer".
EVGA are 'fine'. Gigabyte are also 'fine' given that they have UK based RMA. MSI are also great, but, like EVGA require you to send your card to the EU which can get expensive.
There have been so many threads involving RMA and complaints (Add PNY to the shit list too) that I lose count. Yet all of a sudden you turn up stating how wonderful XFX are. Have you ever had to deal with them when something goes wrong? I have. It just doesn't happen.
My original argument to the OP was that he claimed the Plextor M5 Pro was the best SSD on the market right now. So I was showing him how it wasn't. That specific SSD, the 258GB version had some better features than the Corsair Neutron GTX, and visa versa. So I was simply saying that before one tries to make claims like that, they at least have to back it up.
The bottom line comes down to what it always does when you are talking computer hardware. Speed, specs, price. The last obviously being the most important as long as the product is worth it.
It's a close call (but not with the Neutron, it offers among the worst VFM in a SSD right now which is a shame because we all love Corsair here) but that's just how it goes. Some you win, some you lose, and right now Plextor offer the best of all worlds for the best price.
Now to end all this, you do your bit, and I do my bit. For that past couple hours or so you've commented on everything I have and took quotes from a specific part of a comment I've wrote and tried to point flaws. Personally, I don't know why you're acting like such a douche. Please Scuse' my language. If you think you're not, then perhaps you should think about the things you write before posting them.
Good day..
Firstly I have commented on two threads where I believed you were giving out bad advice. In fact, as of last night when you originally posted them I said nothing. However, when I looked at them again today AND noticed you telling some one to buy a quad core CPU that can't even keep up with Intel's 45nm quad core CPUs I decided to say something.
When you go onto a forum and start handing out advice it needs to be right. TBH? I don't care what advice you give so long as it's solid. When, however, you start recommending bad products and offering bad advice? some one will disagree with you.
As for me
acting like a douche as you so eloquently put it? I'm not falling for that one thanks, it's a bit 2003. What you fail to grasp is that I am not here to argue with you. I am here to make sure that this forums' standard for handing out great, honest and truthful advice (as it always has done and been prided on) remains the same.
If you want to start the insults I recommend Youtube. Loads of brain dead keyboard warriors on there.
