Spinning circle thing over the network icon

When I start the computer and log in, it shows the waiting spinning circle thing over the network icon for a minute and then is ready. When I first installed windows two days ago it load instantly. Now it keeps me from doing anything on my computer until its done being loaded. I did a lot of research on here and other websites, including Microsoft and can not figure it out. I hope you guys can help.

These are some of the things i have done:

1. I thought it might be start up programs slowing it down. MSconfig and only loaded essential os on boot up. Faster but didn't fix it.

2. I made sure the OS couldn't shut off the power to the nic. nada

3. I updated the drivers.

The only way it loads up fast is in safe mode. I thought i could figure out which program was stalling the system and shut it off by going to msconfig as normal.

Any ideas?

I use McAfee but turned it off to see if that was the problem and it still didn't work. I also checked if windows firewall was on after i shutoff McAfee and nothing.

Sorry i should have stated that. I did uninstall it. I also used these suggestions on this website: http://www.sysprobs.com/windows-7-network-slow

My laptop connects faster then this newly built desktop. lol I think its weird it won't let me open up a program like coretemp while the network is still initializing.

sorry, i should have mentioned this. I did uninstall McAfee.
