I have a gigabyte GA-K8N Ultra-9 mobo. Which has SPDIF out (coaxial).
My 'home theatre in a box' has an optical in. So i bought a coaxial to optical converter. Plugged it in.
But i'm not getting any sound. And when i go to the system tray icon, double click it, and look at the realtek configuration its saying nothing is plugged into the SPDIF output. The converter came with a power supply, its definitely on. And I can hear intermittent 'computer noise' coming through the speakers, so something is firing....
Any ideas? I have no idea why its not working. I can't find anything in the bios to activate it or whatever.
