James while I do get your points and agree on the music front that headsets usually lack when it comes to reproducing music I cannot agree that headsets are bad for gaming. My pc350 allowed me to pinpoint people easier in css and csgo than a cheaper headset like my really old cheaper sennheiser. Additionally the sound was clearer.
In gaming your not really worried about whether the sound is reproduced perfectly or not as long as it is identifiable ie footsteps/gun sounds and you can tell where it is coming from. The original poster wants it for gaming and not perfect audio reproduction. He even said it is for fps games to help improve his game. I used to play on speakers when I started and even my cheap sennheisers were an improvement on speakers. I wasn't saying for him to go buy a 200 pound headset but rather telling him what I used. He should start off with a cheaper headset/headphones and if he gets into competitive play and wants something better than he should get either a better headset and a sound card. My point really is that a sound card wouldn't be my first purchase if I was him from my own experience.
Also he said he had some speakers so he can use them for his music and have the best of both worlds.
Last point my pc350s are pretty good with music and videos. They are not the best but they are not bad as you say they are they werent bought for music or videos they were bought for gaming.
