Power cuts and batteries dieing really don't worry me... I've always got power and if for some reason it does go off, certainly not long enough to drain the backup batteries.

Tiz long enough for me :)

Would you trust a PSU to keep you data?

I've known many PSU got wrong over time. If its a matter of keeping my data safe and running slightly slower or running slightly faster but run the risk of losing it all then i have to say i'd rather run slightly slower.

Why don't they have a small HD such as 8GB and when there is a power loss copy the contents of the Memory to the HD. On power resume copy the data back.

Well he's got a nice UPS so thats all good

Plus the fact he's got a PCP&C 510 Sli - probably the most solid and reliable PSU on the market - I'd eat my hat if it went wrong :)

Batteries die over time so it may be 16hours when you get it out the box, but over time it will get less and less as the batteries memory gets smaller. Using some type of shadow copy at remote intervals would be the best way to prevent loss.
