Single card comp!

Id like to have a nice goods old single card competition here at ep-uk, its nice to see mav gettin nice score with sli but hwo will he fare in a single card comp!

A lot of us here do only have one card so i thought it woudl eb nice to see how we can do with only one i still expect mav to come up on top but i expect some others with a single 7800gt /x will do quite well possibly

when i get my gtx and have it volt modded ill give this comp a run, i think 3dmark 05 will b our benchmark as it more graphics orientated rarther than cpu like 01 which means only the higher clocked card will do better possibly and any 1 can has a shot at getting high clocks!!

Well as I got me cards modded individually I had a chance to apply some single card action (Gollum can qualify) whilst waiting for the otehr card to come back.

Scores are like this at 600/1440 (but not submitted on ORB):

01 = 38700

03 = 21500

05 = 10800

Thats ws before I had chance to up the 2d clock speed too, so could have been a little higher I guess.

im getting my 7800gtx volt modded too gunna run around 1.5v throught it to begin wid then more as i hit a wall but 10,800 is nto bad for a single card mate, ive seen some people get below 38,000 with 2 7800gtx lol

You can bench on air at 1.62 volts mate - that should get you 600Mhz 3d with 550 2d - then drop it back down to 1.5v (which should allow 550+ 3d clocks) for normal use.

i might get into this comp aswell, as SLi dnt really appeal 2 me

hmmmm now im jus thinking wat i should get 4 my next rig.... im runnin a 2400+ skt A sempron with a nvdia 6600 atm, jus about gd enough for cs lol

nah tbh i hate 2 ave a small budget on a system, its more i cba 2 build a new 1 atm

but when i can then it has to be sumthin decent

i was thinkin more on the lines of...

A nice 70 degrees load on air at 1.625v 600mhz core on 3d 530mhz 2d with ram 1400.

Good enough to bench, but bench one time only then shut down for 3mins and restart and bench again. I recommend 1.5v on air 24/7 though and should see some nice clocks

On water load never goes above 40degrees.

Because I got my cards modded one at a time I did not set-up better cooling for just one card, so I ran benchies on air and checked the temps. That allowed me (the coach) to provide the guys on air a temp guide with volt mods. Runs around 70degs @ 1.625v, run around 10% hotter than normal at 1.5v.

My cooling is water, chilled water to be exact (courtesy of Phil and Fatty)

think ill set myself a lil goal by tryin 2 get bench stable at 600mhz core on either a 7800GT / 7800GTx on air (my own home made cooler of course )

hopefully shouldnt be 2 hard, as i managed 2 get my x850xt bench stable at 710 on air

Mine was provided as part of the development of the EPUK chiller unit - No pics to be reased as such as I was just helping tweak the product prior to release, basically it's a mach unit with water pipes coming out of it where teh phase head/tube once resided.

But I recently purchased Gollums PC70 case and that will be installed probs this week and new gallery piccie released shortly after = gonna try my hand at a 'tidy' installation.

01 isnt even in the hall of fame and barely uses SLi, aqm is dead, and I will beat that 03 score when I can get 03 to run . As for superpi I'll beat that too when I can spare 20mins. Actually it won't take 20mins .

EDIT: Also he addressed the benchmaster - look at where it says "extreme member" for you and then for me .
