I'm not that clued up on pcs but got injured in 2008 so playing takes up a lot of time, when I'm not in hospital.

I'm awaiting the delivery of my engagement present from my missus. She is awesome!! The question I have is. Did I make the right choice on these components? Specially with the graphics card as I know Radeon just launched their top end cards. Would you say that this system is overall futureproof??

Hi Ron.

It's like up to 5 posts like yours daily on this website. I don't wanna sound rude but have you guys ever heard about search button...

Most of the components you copy/pasted from which ever website have been reviewed here as well.

hello,

blimey, nice tech

Do you mean playing games?

ASUS makes ROG laptops, so you can game at hospital.

mm the graphics card has the highest/latest tech processor. a second 580 card is useful for alot of games etc, a third card, summin less powerful for PhysX, maby? configure the 3D settings in the Nvidia Control Pannel cause it/you can make the visuals and stability better. for gaming you'd like an ASUS ROG motherboard

Hey there mate. No you don't sound rude at all. I have spent many a sleepless night filling the time by looking up each part individually. That's the easy part as due to extensive nerve damage I don't sleep.

The real reason I posted this question was to hear from people, more clued up than I am, how all of the components will work together.

Things like, will the slow HDD speed (they don't offer faster with the 3year tech support package) will hit the performance enough to warrant splashing out on 2raptor 10 000 HDDs.

Well again, sorry if my post p!ssed you off.

Hey Jerome. Thanks for the advice. Funnily enough the pc purchase started with looking at laptops. I have an old Novatech gaming laptop I use when in the hospital. It's no longer the fastest but it keeps me entertained

4gb ram, 8800m GTX graphics (Core2Duo processor, forgot speed). I decided to go for a desktop because for the money you get alot more for your money in a desktop.

The motherboard, I'll deffo look into it.

I've given my lovely lady a list of shiny toys that tickle my fancy.

Logitech G930 (wireless 7.1 headset) is one.

We like to give little surprise presents. When we have a little spare cash in the budget.

I have her to thank for my

G13 controller.

G19 Keyboard

G9 Mouse

Second LG3D monitor.

I am a lucky boy.

I was seriously considering a second 580 but I'll wait till say June for it.

Oh and the pc is mainly for gaming though I start studying this year, on the tinterweb to learn more about computers.

( If I make little sense or ramble on senslessly blame it on the oxycodone+oramorph

Ron,

The ROG motherboards include ASUS's auto overclocking system. Mine has 3 auto tuning options: Fast tuning, Extreme tuning and Custom tuning. The BIOS options are great, apparently. I used the BIOS Auto Tuning. This system makes the computer future proof.

I like the g35 over the wireless version.

Yup the wireless g930 sucks up battery like hell (personal experience) get the g35 also why dont u get the noctua nh-d14 for the cpu cooler and take a look at the rampage 3 extreme and also get a corsair psu instead other than that its all good. Ive heard bad stuff bout x-power just a little heads up.

Anyways happy new year and dont forget to post pics.

Hey again Jerome. I was re-reading your comment above. Can you use a single GTX580 with a single additional GPU for PhysX??

Thanks
