Siberia v2 through a Xonar DGX

Hi peeps

I was wondering if is was safe to enable the Exciter mode for >64ohm headsets on my 32ohm Siberi v2's because the volume level is also very low on max settings, is there a setting or something I need to enable to get a decently high volume?

I tried it for a moment and it gave me a much needed volume boost, but was wondering if it had any long term effects or sound drawbacks.

I don't know why, but this isn't the case. I enable and disable it listening to music and the Exciter mode (64ohms) runs a hell of a lot louder.

How could this be the case?

Weird, obviously 64 ohm is twice as resistant as 32, so in theory should be quieter.... weird! I dunno whats happened there bro.

I'm assuming it's because it's "for >64 Ohm" so they output assuming 64 ohm resistance, not causing 64 ohm resistance.

If it's the same thing as on my sound card - it just adds gain in decibels to compensate for headphones of that resistance.
